Reminds me of this last year <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/pHjiiKk881A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> The Houston fans cheering are f****** pathetic. It is just sick.
Considering Schaub's recent meltdowns, I believe this would have happened in every single NFL stadium to some extent. I can understand the players being angry about it and voicing their strong displeasure, but they shouldn't be shocked by it. The fans who cheered the injury are classless jerks who paid for tickets just like everyone else to be who they are.
Nah... Houston has the perfect combo of "idiot", "Passionate drunken fan", and "uneducated" to make the perfect storm of this happening.
What a sad human being you are that you think your entertainment is more important than someone's health. You have no idea what the injury is or how it impacts his health. A "foot injury" could be anything from a sprained ankle to a broken foot to a ruptured tendon.
How about we cheer for the entire team to have their job taken over by somebody more competent? But those are men with wives and kids!!! Stop acting as though your job is the same as ours. You make millions on being a celebrity, you sacrifice your right to privacy. Press conferences, paparazzi, national media scorn, daytime radio propaganda...it's all a part of the life you adopted, the risk you took to get where you are. You make money off the backs of millions of viewers, so millions of viewers in acting like a headless mob should be of no surprise to you. No righteous indignation is granted to NFL players.
And what is the long term damage of any of those? And it obviously wasnt a ruptured tendon. With all of those he will be in the NFL next year. No different then if he had been benched.
This is true. Texans have so many idiotic, impatient, and spoiled fans. You can really tell who the bandwagon/fair weather fans are when you see them making noise when the offense is on the field.
I said it a while back and will stick to it. Signing JJ to a max contact will be a detriment. This is not discrediting JJ as a player by any means, but by the limits of his position when the ball passes the line of scrimmage he becomes useless. Next year we need to sign a LB, SS, FS, and CB. Signing JJ to ~100 Million severely handicaps our ability to do that.
Entertainment is obviously more important. NFL players have a short, injury filled career. Those are the known facts. All for entertainment.
Sprains and breaks often have long-term issues - sprains in particular make your ankle ligaments weaker. But regardless, who cares what the long term damage is? You think it's cool to cheer short-term injuries to other people for your own benefit? That's what's make you a pathetic person.
Those fans were classless and I was pretty pissed about it too, but don't try to take away from the fact that all 3 sides of the ball today played terrible. All this talk about having a great practice week, showing up stronger, playing a better game means nothing when it doesn't show up on game day. Talking is a lot easier than performing, and laying 4 straight eggs doesn't help the cause.
I think its cool to cheer back ups getting a chance. If it comes at the expense of the starters foot for a few games or if it comes from the starter getting benched I see no difference. But by all means keep trying to take some random moral high ground. oh is that it? haha. go preach your moral superiority somewhere else. nobody is impressed.
Sure wish we could rewind to two years ago when the Texans had a legitmate shot of making it to a conference championship game. First playoff game, first playoff win, all with a backup. Just think when Schaub returns, the sky's the limit. The Texans could do no wrong, they had the city in the palm of their hands. You could feel the energy and excitement around town. How quickly we've fallen apart.
