Just when I started to really believe the Rockets could pull this off, you had to give us the ol' Sports Illustrated jinx. Thanks alot, buddy.

It would be folly to think that our playoff hopes are pinned solely on Memphis. New Orleans has a gut-punch of a schedule remaining, and could potentially drop 4-5 more games. If that's the case, and the Rockets take care of their end of things, we could nab their spot.

Think of the momentum we'll have if we make the playoffs. It could help us get out of the first round. The way were playing, we have a chance against anyone.

Nice find! I loved reading this...

"Having several weapons is a blessing, but it’s the supporting cast’s ability to score without using many possessions that propels Houston’s offense into the stratosphere.

Whether it’s in the perfect orchestration of a backdoor cut or a well-executed set out of the pinch post, the Rockets thrive in the areas outside the standard pick-and-roll fare. The lack of a ball-demanding star has given way to a wonderful fluidity in Houston’s offense, as the success of the team’s best players only facilitates the overall scheme.

The Rockets’ bid for a postseason berth isn’t merely intriguing for its down-to-the-wire theatrics. Houston’s offense is a perfect marriage of efficiency and aesthetic, and the longer it’s allowed to cut, dive and dish into infinity, the better."

And Adelman hasn't received an extension? No wonder the author includes this gem:

"If they fall short — or if the Grizzlies simply take care of business, as has been the case thus far — then these final eight games are the last we’ll see of one of the league’s most beautifully functional offenses."

Get a grip, Les, and extend Adelman before another team steals him.
