Hard to say. He was on their roster for all of 2 preseason games. Even the Spurs can't get a true read on someone in that amount of time. Nothing's ever a guarantee, of course, he could be terrible. I'd still rather do that low risk - high reward experiment than low risk - low reward with Bobby Brown.
Are you saying Scola was 'elite' once upon a time in the NBA? He's never been dude. He's a fan favorite for his gutsy hustle and scrap but that's it. Be honest for a moment here. I think Scola had so much heart in the 2009 PlayOffs but that's about it. He's a marginal to mediocre player at best and his stats indicate so as well.
Scola is far from mediocre. He made huge impacts on the court for a few years, and was a difference maker. Of course he's not elite but to say he's average is a stretch.
He was the leader and the best player during our 22 game winning streak. That has to count for something above mediocre.
I'll give you credit that his career averages are better than what I expected. Although I thought he tried his best to defend and was willing to sacrifice his body by taking charges. But right now he's a 3rd string player which is sad. I like Scola and could see him make the correct play in any situation unlike the debacle that was Dwight Howard and Terrence Jones during a fast break situation in 2015 elimination series.
Gordon career 40% 3pt-shooter and overall FG% not too bad. Did he have injury problems or something? I still remember his legendary performances with the Bulls against the big-3 Celtics in the playoffs.
All the Tracy fans will beg to differ with you on this. In their eyes the streak is the same as winning a playoff series.
If my team at one point had harden, durant and Westbrook and they traded one of them and the other one left to the Warriors I'd light my house on fire
