We all know Terry and Prigioni have no chance at keeping up with Curry. Harden has the ability to keep up if he puts in the effort, and plus the added motivation of losing the MVP to the guy may push him harder. Thoughts?
No way at all should James be the primary defender Curry will use his speed to wear out Harden - and Barnes and Thompson will use their size on Terry or Prigs -- maybe on switches Harden stays with curry but no way he stays on him the majority of the game. Curry wont be guarding Harden at all for many of the same reasons.
I honestly just prefer to keep the PG on Curry and try to keep him off of the 3 point line. Let him shoot mid range jumpers and try to be physical with him if he attacks the basket.
McHale should start Brewer and Harden in the backcourt, with Brewer on Curry and Harden on Klay Thompson.
That would be terrible too. Harden should be on Iggy/Barnes. Or better yet completely ignore Bogut on defence and have Harden play only team defence, double teaming some and go for steals. Brewer on Curry and Ariza on Klay.
Yes. Best case scenario he manages to contain him somewhat and is too tired to score/create. Even then he won't shut him down. So what's the point.
Didnt think of thompson as a hard guy to keep up with. How about Brew on curry, Ariza on thompson, Harden on Barnes, jones/smith on Green, Howard on Bogut?
That's what most people expect/want to see. It's the most favourable lineup for the Rockets defence-wise.
Yes, ideally we want to hide Harden on Barnes, but with all the switches off screens and pick and rolls, he will have his fair share guarding Klay or Steph. You know on their end that they will try to attack Harden to wear him out.
