He took more mid range jumpers than our entire team last year. The problem with our 3 point only strategy is that it makes it so that other teams have a lot less real estate they have to worry about on the floor. It makes us predictable. Should we make CP3 cut the jumpers, or continue taking them?
I'm pretty sure Morey himself said like one year ago that if they would've a good mid range shooter they would let the guy take the shot with no problems cause it would still be an efficient shot, if i'm not wrong Paul is the best mid range shooter in the league so...
Flat out no. I wish he took more in the 2 preseason games. He's one of the best at it and it'll keep defenses honest.
A mid range shot, and a long 2 are two completely different things. Chris Paul gets almost into the paint on a lot of his jumpers, finding a soft spot in the defense that is substantially closer to the rim, that is a really good shot. That's where he makes his money, and we aren't stupid. Those stupid ass shots from 2-4 feet inside the line are the only shots that should truly be radioactive, and he dosn't take many of those. But yes, taking even 1 of those is too many.
He WILL choose to take far fewer midrange shots once he becomes fully assimilated. He WILL be assimilated. He WILL be assimilated. He WILL be assimilated. Assimilated he WILL be.
WE don't need to force anything We should take the shots that the defense gives us. If it's a mid range so be it. If it's a 3 pointer so be it. The only thing we need to force is for Ryan Anderson to grow some cojones at Toyota center
I think Harden and Paul need to take a few midrange jumpers every game. I like that Nene has a propensity to take them as well. We still need to be a three point offense, but nothing wrong with mixing it up with players that excel from those areas.
theres no such thing as taking out something from an elite players game. he has the green light just like harden and rightfully so
I'll answer your question with a question: Should we make Harden cut the euro-step, or continue using it? ....... ....... .......
Yeah I think y'all are being short sighted, us forcing a player to stop doing something he's good at may hurt the team initially but I can't say I'm not interested in the opportunities that forcing NBA players to do our bidding could present. I say go for it OP.
Nah. Not all mid-range shots or shooters are created equal. CP3 & Harden knock them down with a higher percentage than say Josh Smith (with Atl and Detroit) And they (CP3/ Harden) have the judgement to shoot them sparingly and not every time (get to the foul line). If every shot is a 3 or near the rim.....teams (defense) will just camp out at the rim and/or around the 3-pt line. Harden/CP3/EGo and maybe Tucker have somewhat of a green light to shoot the mid-range. It makes the Rockets more dangerous this year. Spurs will find that out.
