No one is willing to give up lottery picks for Tracy. Acquiring them will require us to give up Carl and Aaron/Lowry.
agreed they are trading to get better not giveaway to get expirings. Because of Nash the Suns would trade Stat only if it made them better and to compete along Nash. Who knows how much longer he can compete at this level. also looking at Sun's salaries... did Ben Wallace get traded to the Phoenix???
No. I don't catch the vibe of him being a winner. He's a statistic and highlight reel guru, but I'm not sure he makes players around him too much better. Plus he has already shown the inability to play with big, slow centers.
ok, on Amares behalf, watch him goto Cleveland and win atleast 3 rings with Lebron(he is in trade rumors to there)( . Amare wants to win. Call him all you want, Id take him over Landry anyday even for an extra 10 mil and losing Budinger. NO brainer. He would only get BETTER next to yao because teams wouldnt be able to double him like they do now. Guy is a monster. Keep drinking the koolaid and miss playoffs while Amare dominates in Cleveland. he is not karl malone, but for someone on the tradeing block he is as good as your going to get.
personally. i'd rather see him go to an eastern team, opening up a spot in the west for us to make the playoffs hopefully. we are set on pf imo, i say go after a sg
Hefty price for acquiring him when he might opt out. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4911348
LEAVE THE GARM THEN! Go make sexual innuendo comments about Amar'e and LeBron somewhere else. Amar'e wants MAX money and he's NOT a max player[period]
With our history of injuries and with the money STAT will be demanding, methinks our attention would be best directed elsewhere.
if amare didn't like playing beside shaq, he won't like playing with Yao. I don't think amare can handle playing beside a traditional postup, back to the basket center.
Has anyone looked at it in the aspect that him going to the Cavs makes the Suns considerably worse. IMHO the Rockets are a better team than the Suns without Amare. So maybe that deal inadvertently helps us out. I really think that we will benefit from all of these western playoff team trades.
plus, if you watch Suns games enough, you notice two things: - Amare doesn't play well without Nash (and as we know, Nash makes EVERYONE better, if not much better) - Amare doesn't play defense much - Less of a factor, but still important is Amare doesn't go after rebounds, and it is not about athletism or sharing with other teammates, but it is because he doesn't make the effort. He still gets 8.60 rebounds per game, but he is pretty much the main big man there most of the time. Even more telling is Suns is one of the lowest rebounding teams in the league (from rebound differential standpoint).
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns are closing in on a deal that would send All-Star forward Amare Stoudemire to Cleveland, according to sources with knowledge of the negotiations. The Cavaliers would send Zydrunas Ilgauskas and J.J. Hickson to Phoenix in exchange for Stoudemire, one of the league's most dominant big man. While Cleveland remains in talks with several other teams, the club, from management down to the players, has settled on Stoudemire as its first choice. The ball is in Phoenix's court. The Suns are mulling whether the financial relief provided by Ilgauskas's $12 million contract and the young and talented Hickson are enough for them to part with Stoudemire. Cleveland believes the addition of Stoudemire would all but seal LeBron James' re-signing with the team when he becomes a free agent this summer.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4913305
Re: Zydrunas, Hickson for Amare!?! (ESPN) Postby Furrski on Sun Feb 14, 2010 10:30 am Wisedude42- Tone it down a little. Check out Windy's latest from last night: http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf ... e_rum.html " But they also are involving the Houston Rockets , Utah Jazz and Philadelphia 76ers in trying to set things up. In recent weeks the Cavs have also had expanded talks with the Chicago Bulls about making them a partner. If that seems like a wide net, it is supposed to be. There's often such expansive talks at this time as teams attempt to satisfy numerous needs with bigger deals. Usually, though, if anything gets done it is just between two teams. General Manager Danny Ferry did pull off a three-team deal at the deadline two years ago, however. • Sources have indicated the Cavs have gotten "pretty far down the tracks" in talking to the Suns about Stoudemire. It has even gotten to the point that the sides have discussed small details like payment schedules and salary reimbursement options. At this time of year, because many contracts are pro-rated differently, there are such things to work out in a trade" If you are a Cavs fan, you know BW is reliable. We all know where you stand on this rumor. We all will continue to talk about it. We are not stupid.
