Should Morris replace 2Pat at the starting 4?

Marcus Morris should start the rest of the year

This guy is much better than Patterson. For our run and gun style he is the perfect stretch 4. Patterson needs to become the backup 4.

    Yes.

I don't like the idea of a player losing his starting job due to injury. But I like Morris in there. He's a more fluid athlete, better ball-handler, and better perimeter shooter. We'll lose a bit defensively, but its not like we were a great defensive team with Patterson.

I agree. I feel like he brings some of that Phila toughness down low too. Nice to have another guy capable of scoring in isolation If we need it, not to mention his ability to show and go. In general, it just seems like he has a better feel for the game then Patquatch. Pat has always been a bit robotic.

Correction: Greg Smith should start for the rest of the year.

The dude is a PnR machine with Lin.

One thing I think is that Marcus legitimately stretches the floor. Defenses will leave Patterson open for 3, you don't see it with Morris.

Our guards aren't doubled as much and help doesn't come automatically when they penetrate.

This. Morris is thought of as a threat from outside, which is why there's more spacing. It's helping both Lin and Harden.

So far i'm liking Morris at the 4. As someone said, he legitimately stretches the floor and he's a way better 3pt shooter than patterson.

I was surprised at how well he defended Z-Bo tonight.

Morris started the first two games and we saw similar production from Lin and Harden. Don't think its a coincidence.

My biggest worry with Morris at the 4 is our defense. If he can actually defend 4s, somehow keep the likes of Zach Randolphs from annailating him, then offensively he's certainly a bigger plus than Patterson.

Well, it's a moot point since Patterson likely will be out for a long time.
