$600 for something a mini-laptop can do better?
    Not worth it.

if you don't NEED one..just wait. never buy the first model of anything. look at the 2g iphone. sure you look cool but you couldn't access 3G internet in 2007.

the 2nd model will probably have a camera and other useful things. maybe even a Verizon radio built in.

Maybe. The only reason i recommend it is because someone who goes to Devry probably cant work a normal computer.

I played with one at the Apple store. I liked it.

Like all gadgets Apple, a newer, better, more expensive version is coming out soon. Projected sales of 45 million units in 2011.

But it's not a laptop. Don't think I could do day to day stuff with it. So it remains a trinket out of my price range.

3g is only faster than your computer's ISP if you have dial-up or the cheapest tier of DSL. Lol.

I like mine. Use it daily and really appreciate the small size and quick " turn on" time. The battery also gives me legit 9-10 hours of web surfing time per charge.

I wouldn't carry a laptop or net book 75% of the places I take my iPad.

If you're talking about boot-up times, yes. iPad is click and go. But in terms of processor power a typical laptop has... maybe 2.5ghz dual core. iPad's to my knowledge function on a 1ghz single core processor.
