Stop it....just stop it. Hasn't anybody in HTown learned after seeing numerous Durant threads the past two years. He ain't interested in us so stop wasting your time dreaming up trades that can bring him here.
I heard MD likes the way Lebron plays as well. Maybe the Rockets can work a three team trade with Cleveland and OKC to get both James and Westbrook. It works because they both fit MD's system and we could have our own big three.
On a serious note, since Westbrook to the Rockets makes no sense on any level, i would like to see him in Boston. Get those young assets to OKC, and have a devastating guard rotation with IT, Bradley and WB. Get another contender in the East and an awesome narrative if Bos and GS meet in the finals.
Unless WB makes a Melo type demand it's never happening. We can't compete with Boston or the Lakers as far as assets are concerned. Instead of all these young talented players in picks... I present you the poopoo platter of Ariza/Brewer/Scrub white dude from Wisconsin.
The Rockets don't have the assets to pull off a deal like this, and right now, I don't see Westbrook as a realistic option next offseason either. Hell, I don't even think he's necessarily the best fit in D'Antoni's offense. Shouldn't we be focused on more realistic goals and acquiring players the Rockets might actually be able to add this offseason?
Have to agree with Sam. Boston sports fans are the worst. The WORST. I have no interest in them being good. They like to rub it in your face if their local women's hockey team wins the state title. "Haha, city of champions! How do you like them apples! Matt Damon!!!!1"
C'mon guys, how much more obvious can it be??? Durant wants to learn how to win a ring and GSW is his best option. He'll then come to Houston to play with his boys Westbrook and Harden and teach them how to win rings. People are forgetting that Durant has a player option next year and will opt out. Westbrook is also UFA, however, Harden is signed until 2018. You guys are all blind and naive if you dont see this Spoiler

I'm being sarcastic. I think OKC fans would run the front office out of town if they shopped Westbrook right now.

This could end very poorly for the Thunder... ... which is too bad for Presti, because that guy is a great great GM. Did he lose the Harden trade?? Sure, but he was going to lose that trade the second he was forced to choose between Ibaka and Harden because of ownership. He still made the most of it, and frankly probably chose right among the two if forced to choose - not because Ibaka is in any way remotely close to Harden, but because of roster balance. It's not his "fault" that Westbrook/KD combined are incredibly bad playoff closers, and have had random injury problems. He's got a team that can still perform pretty well, even with Westbrook moved. And it would still be a young team. To use the Suns as an example... Bledsoe, Bender, a draft pick for Westbrook. Well, Bledsoe, Oladipo, Roberson, Kanter, Adams, Bender, Sabonis... clearly the team needs work, but it is at least a young, interesting, likely competitive team coached by Donovan. Getting one of the Nets picks plus some players from Boston would be even better, as Presti has proven to be a top 5 drafter. If they get nothing for Westbrook, too, that would be disastrous.... and Westbrook definitely strikes me as the silent, no I'm not thinking about leaving type, that then leaves. Got to assume some media leaking and posturing going on here. There's no way Westbrook's trade value doesn't gradually decline through the season.
Presti either has to get Westbrook to do a re-negotiate and extend now, or trade Westbrook BEFORE the season starts. He can't wait until the Feb trade deadline or "hope" things work out well next summer.
