a warning first, then a suspension ( maybe one or two months) and then ban him.

I said no because, as others have said, I wouldn't want a first timer to come in here, post one, and get booted. Maybe if they have been members for a year or two, or they continually post them after they've been told not to.

    I love 'em...

Someone throws out a stupid trade idea and others pile on. One person defends the thread starter saying there is a "deal in the works" and suppose said claim with a HW article and THAT is when the fun ensues.

The thread is immediately derailed - first with 15 posts trashing the person who linked the article (intermixed with at least 4 people asking "why is the link '*********' ?")

then the whole thread become a public flogging of the "rocket guy" by fellow Rocket fans...and the person who started the stupid trade idea gets off the hook and lives to post again

it reminds me of Ben Wallace - giving Artest the original shove and starting the fight, then walking away with only a light suspension, while the entire Pacer team was banned for the season

Why not just prevent any post that contains "hoopsworld" in it? Then you could display an error message stating that ClutchFans does not permit HoopsWorld links or articles to be posted. If they choose to do so, then they will be tossed.

And if others are referencing the name of the site, they can just say "hoopswrld stinks" or something like that.

it already does filter out the name of the site in urls.

try typing a url with hoopsworld in it...it will be replaced by astericks.

    http://www.***************

same with the old yao mingmania site.
    http://www.************.com

there are a couple of others iirc...

but yet, when someone posts a link to those...and it doesnt show right...they still keep tryin to post it with similar results...it always amuses me.

Yes, you are right, it does filter... But I'm talking about preventing the post from submitting... Instead of actually submitting the post, the page would return an error message saying that it cannot submit the post, and would then explain the reasoning why Hoopsworld articles are not allowed, and further explain the consequences for posting such articles if they misspell hoops-world on purpose and make the post anyway.

Here's an example: Hit reply and type in less than 5 characters. See the error message it returns? Something like that.

Does that make more sense? I hope I explained myself better...

btw, thanks again for the vids... I seem to recall the '95 Finals being on the schedule for this summer, but I never caught them when they were released, did I just miss it?

    nope...you havent missed them.

It turns out that several of the video files are giving me CRC errors, and Im going to have to get those specific ones recaptured.

Smeg...the only email I can find for you is the old one from the uni...shoot me a mail from your current one re: the 95 game tapes.

I am guilty of a crime worse then posting an article from them....I wrote articles for them before, but that was 5 years ago. Looks like a different site now...
