    Hey all,

I'm in Houston for an internship this summer and my family does not have a car for me. I was wondering if anyone had any information on where I could either get a short term lease or a long term rental at an affordable price. I'd rather get something a little nicer but am not picky. It'll be for three months, starting ASAP to around mid-August.

I would just priceline car rentals every few weeks. I gotten cheap rental as low as 100 dollars a week before. I don't know that the car rental taxes are like Houston though.

I would just try to find the best deal I could on a used late model car with low miles still under warranty. Before you buy it take it to a car max or dealer and ask what they would give you for it wholesale. If you find a good initial deal, you might not lose money at all.

I know it's popular in europe to have a short lease instead of a long term rental (that's what I plan to do anyway). Not sure about pricing, but when I looked, the lease was slightly more than a rental and there were less restrictions and a nicer car.

Buy a used car. Sell it after you are done.

This or a lease, but I don't think it's possible to have a reasonably priced rental. Furthermore, these people will sell their cars right out from under you. You still get another one as long as you're in your rental term; but fine-print wise they don't have to, and they especially don't have to get one with the same specs.

If you're under 25, many car rental companies have a premium which is very expensive. Where are you working?
