Actually he's borderline top-10 and has nowhere to go but down, since he's getting noticeably worse each and every year. It's OVAH ROCKY.

Lol keep dreaming. He's beyond his prime now, anything he does now will not affect his legacy just like how Duncan getting trashed out of the first round while being a 1st seed and getting sent home by the soft Suns team last year in 4 didn't affect his

That's wishful thinking, but legacy is only as good as what people remember. Kids getting into basketball now will only remember Kobe as a constantly hobbled volume chucker instead of the tremendous athlete he once was. Same as how people viewed Kareem in his final few years, or MJ on the Wizards, or Hakeem on the Raptors. Your boy is done, sorry.

thats not that big of a shocking fact

the bigger shocking fact to me at least is that without Derek Fisher on his team, Kobe Bryant has never made it past the first round

haha, is Tmac fault the rockets didnt pass the 1st round, with a very bad team, but its not kobe fault that he got swept, with a very good team.

Im not a tmac fan, but its always his fault, but kobe never gets the blame, and always gets the credit.
In game 3, Lakers lost and Bynum and Odom scored more than Kobe.
Kobe scoring less than 25 pts in the last 3 games.
Its not like Kobe played so well, and didnt have company.
Gasol choked, and the Lakers got swept, and people still think Gasol has nothing to do with Lakers success.

People who watched MJ at the tail end of his career did not appreciate how good he was in his prime. This is why there are actually people out there who think that Kobe > MJ; they were born in the 90s and only saw MJ when he was 40. Ditto with other greats. And now it is happening to Kobe. No one can escape age.

MJ, Magic, Kareem, Hakeem, Wilt, Russell, Shaq, Bird, Robertson, and Tim Duncan might have something to say about that.

Kobe got 10 points in 4th quarter game 7. He grabbed 15 rebounds, 10 more than his season averaged, more than enough to make up his low shooting % when PP and RA shot 8/29, 27.5% combined. It's the defense and rebounding, not Artest's .387 shooting, or Gasol's .375 shooting that day, saved the Lakers.

MJ went 1-9 in playoff without Pippen. That's a whopping 10% winning %.

Doesn't it suck when your hero gets shut down by a 40 year old white guy?

What has he done thus far to be ranked above Russell, Wilt, Magic, Bird, Jordan, Kareem, Dream, Shaq or Duncan? Be on better teams? LeBron will surpass him as well once he starts winning.

I don't know why anybody argues about this. Nobody but dumb ass delusional Faker fan thinks he is a top 10 player.

Ten years after he retires nobody will think of Kobe as the best of anything.

As predicted here you come. I wonder if MJ's team ever got blown out in a playoffs game. Kobe's got blown out in several playoff games which is the subject of this thread.

I wonder too what Kobe would be able to do if his team had starters like pg Wes Matthews, center Jawann Oldham, forwards David Greenwood and Orlando Woolridge, and a bench with Quintin Dailey, Mitch Wiggins and others who were just made up of a practice squad.

Face it, Kobe is a great player who deserves respect as such, but it is just totally silly to keep comparing him to MJ. Just keep Kobe in his own sphere, as Phil Jackson pointed out, then you keep his great legacy intact. Comparing him to MJ just exposes the chasm between the greatness of the two players and shows how puny his accomplishments are when compared to MJ's.

Obvious explanation: he's been in so many playoff games! (He's probably been on the winning end of a lot of blowouts too.)

Lebron is at least 4 rings away from any top 10 of all time chances.

Yeah, in the minds of Kobe lovers that somehow think him being on 5 title teams, 3 via the sidekick role, elevates him past other dudes. Wilt, Bird, Hakeem, Shaq and Duncan all have less than 5 rings and will all go down as better players than Kobe.

LeBron doesn't need that many titles. His numbers are that much better than everyone else's.
