Joining the Rockets is a chance to turn his career around and be a key player in a vicious Western Conference.

New York will probably say that staying under new management is a chance to turn his career around.. but he's heard that one before.

What if I told you that we could keep Ryno and still get Melo?
These idiots are headed for a buyout.

He doesn't have a choice if NY doesn't want to trade him for the pu-pu platter. They can let him be unhappy and then walk. Would not put any kind of stupidity past the Knicks.

This is a ploy by the Knicks to gain some leverage. The problem is Melo already envisioned playing with Houston which ignited his competitive fire. The trade will get done. He wants to play in Houston and the Knicks will have no choice but to net something in return. The Knicks ultimately have no leverage as long as Melo remains loyal to Houston. Time will tell.

We have made it clear that we actually want Melo. Morey's went after him before, and his boy just got traded here. We're set up to be a top 3 team in the NBA.

Melo doesn't even know this new guy, and Mills has already been a part of a front office that has failed him before.

    Let's wrap this thing up.

Thank you. people are not recognizing that the NY doesn't have to trade Melo. Also they can wait to trade Melo. They do have options. It's not .."Take our crap and like it ...b****!". it's not like that. but i see how a lot of rockets fans would like to think it's like that.

Like others have said, this is all a formality. They want to get Perry acclimated with the situation and see if he has any ideas.
They'll try to talk Carmelo into staying.

Carmelo will hopefully want out bad enough and let them know right away when they talk.

Perry will then look at the deals and then do what he thinks is best. Trading Carmelo is what's best so that they can get something in return. The only teams he wants to be traded to are Houston and Cleveland. Cleveland and NY don't seem to have any traction on deals. Whereas, Houston is rumored to already have the deal in place.

    This screams Melo to Houston.

A newly hired GM of one of the most highly valued, spotlighted franchises in sports isn't just going to jump into a deal right away (especially one that involves a superstar). He's going to pause, since he has plenty of time to do so, and then after assessing the situation (which is absolute shyt) he will make the move.

Melo wants out. Let time take care of it.

    Patience

This is just going to piss off Melo and probably won't end well for the Knicks.

Then we would trade Ryan Anderson to the New Orleans Pelicans in a trade for DeMarcus Cousins! Lol.

Morey has a inside guarantee. There's no way he's calling NY's bluff with the possibility of losing Melo. He would have already included EGO if he didn't kno Melo's stance. He knows with Melo we prob have a shot with LBJ and Wade. Too much to gamble on. Melo is the key

You seem to think NYK were receiving Anderson in the first place.
