Pure lip service for the moment. I don't believe him at all. Sorry to be harsh, but I have very little respect for Shaq. I think he's lying through his teeth and is just saying what the Orlando folks want to hear.
Yep. He just likes to please the masses. No way he regrets going over to LAL and being the best player on 3 championship teams.
It's unlikely he would have won as much with ORL, so to say that would mean he really hated his time with LAL, despite the rings, or it's just PR talk.
"Knowing what I know now, I would've stayed.” “(Former Magic coach Brian Hill) knows, Nick (knows), Jeff (Turner) knows, we could have beaten those (Rockets) guys blindfolded. Stop telling lies Shaq. STOP.
If Shaq never left things could have played out completely different. Assuming that Penny still goes through the injuries that started once Shaq left, the Magic were able to spend big because Shaq and Penny were gone. So with Shaq still around they probably only get one big name instead of 2. Maybe they go for what they would assume to be the sure thing and sign only Hill. And then the Magic are left with Penny part 2.
Nowadays, LA would not have been able to "steal" him like they did... the CBA contracts don't really allow for "business decisions" such as these. Certainly, if he wanted out of Orlando, he would have gotten his way eventually... but it did happen pre-maturely due to a now changed facet of rookie contracts.
LMAO...wow he's definitely not the brightest tool in the shed! But definitely a tool. Did he really forget that they got SWEPT in the finals? If they could have beaten the 94-95 team blindfolded, shouldnt they have won at least 1 game without being blindfolded???
I agree, he does this with Kobe too. He hated him and after he retired he changed his song. Doesn't change the fact that after wining in Miami he was telling Kobe to tell him how his ass tasted. Pure demagoguery by Shaq. I still like Shaq but he really is disingenuous at times.
Haha, his stupid comment during induction in their HOF was silly too... "we could have beat those guys blindfolded", ROFL... He knows he's full of ****, they got swept out of the finals by the Dream. Basically just catering to fans.
