The shoes don't seem that bad to me. The "PEAK" on the side is kind of ugly, but who knows about the actual quality. I'm sure a lot of people that are bashing the shoes because of their look -- but if Shane finds them to be comfortable and don't hinder his health and/or game, that's the only thing that should really matter. Especially when you're getting paid 4 million to wear them for two seasons!

They look cool to me but he will end up rolling his ankles in those shoes.

Shoes are all the same imo. and all shoes are made in China. I don't mind to buy a pair if it is available here.

I think they look pretty ugly, but I'd wear them for 4 mill too. The huge PEAK written across the shoes look ghastly.

They're no more garish than the majority of basketball shoes. At least they appear to be relatively gimmick-free. I'd wear trash bags tied on my feet with baling wire for $4 mil.

they look sturdy and functional. material used is probably of better quality and more costly than nikes or reeboks.

Yep. Remember, we pay for the brand name, not necessarily the quality of materials used for the shoe. I mean, what do they cost to make? Five bucks or less? These "PEAK" brand shoes, although certainly not as expensive as Nike, could easily be better made. I guess that's up to Shane to decide.

I'm still shocked Shane received and signed a contract with a Chinese shoemaker, all because he joined the Rockets.

The original article stated Peak signed a 4 mil sponsership deal with the Rockets in February.

The figure Battier got wasn't reported.

Li-Ning which is allegedly the biggest shoe brand in China got Shaq for 1.25 mil, so I doubt Battier out did Shaq there.

Are we sure these aren't mostly assembled at the same plant with a different branding?

The February one is a 2-year US$ 4M deal for the advertisement signboard.

The Battier deal has not been publicly disclosed......but it was disclosed in Chinese articles as "according to insider source close to China Peak"
