Always love your comments but I hope nobody is doing what you suggested they might.

Nobody knows the longterm impact of having had this virus and a lot of solid theories suggest there are indeed longterm implications, in both symptomatic and asymptomatic cases. IMO it would be monumentally stupid at this point to think that one could catch it now so they could get it out of the way. Nobody can definitively say that there is such a thing as 'getting it out of the way.' Maybe one can get it out of the way. I hope that's so. But nobody should feel confident in that.

If Harden has or has had the virus, I'm concerned for him because of his future, not because of his ability to play this shortened season in Orlando and not even for his career, but for his longterm health. Many studies are pointing toward potential longterm respiratory problems, even among asymptomatic, young, and healthy people. And doesn't he have asthma too?

I'm going to Qanon you mother****ers and throw in an alternative Occam ass scenario

They didn't go to Orlando because they didn't ****ing want to and there's no point.

Florida is one of the very worst COVID19 hellholes in the US, as is Htown, due to our massive shameful National failure to measure up to the rest of the world.

If you're a player of Harden or even Russ stature, and your alternative is go sit in a bullshit 3 star hotel prison in a COVID19 disaster zone, or don't show up at all and stay in your custom manse until you absolutely have to why would you?

Do you really need a bunch of dumb practices and scrimmages? He's obv been staying in shape. The Dantony system he can run in his sleep. Why not show up as late as you can? It probably minimizes your risk to show up later

This ain't ****ing Rudy Ruetteger folks. That's a ****ing movie. He didn't carry frodo up to mount doom cause he slept in a closet. It was cuz he was in the right place and time

I don’t like this strategy. I wish the PR team would just come out and tell us what’s up.

Sorry, I should have said this more carefully. I was trying to make a highly specific case that the calculation can make sense in this weird Orlando playoff bubble, where 1) the stakes are a championship, 2) the time frame is short (i.e. your immunity can be counted on for the duration), 3) everyone is an elite young athlete, and 4) a new infection, once you're in the bubble, ends your season. Remove any of these conditions, and the calculation tilts the other way.

Also, even under these four weird conditions, you can make a case (as some of you have) that the calculation is still against it, in part because of known risks, and in part because of the unknowns.

To repeat: Don't try this in your own home!

let's say morey calculated the % probability that harden or westbrook will contract the virus before the playoffs ends

and he tells harden and wb this number

at what % should or do you think harden and westbrook decide yeah its better to get infected earlier

What happened? When given playing time he seems to produce. Why cut him? There isn’t much of a team to start with. We should be starting him along with Gordon and see what happens. Maybe some good will come of it. Where did you hear this? Rivers is value on his current contract —> we cannot replace his skills, tenacity & b ball IQ for the same amount of money we pay him. I don’t understand why we would part ways.

Not much upside in retaining Austin rivers.

He has never come close to starting and he does not bring any change of pace to small ball.
In other words, his skills are obsolete.

I have a hard time believing that. If the Rockets can retain Rivers for his player option next season then they would be fools to not have him back IMO. I think Rivers is going to be great coming off of the bench in Orlando this postseason.

Looking at the roster to see if there is a better choice and don’t see one. He is our 4th best back-court player. Why cut him now if two of the other players aren’t even there.

    Macklemore is way more skilled.

Austin rivers is done, stick fork in that luck duck. He looks like prison bish with those tattoos, waste of money.

Potential heart issues should preclude that strategy.

I didn’t know Macklemore played in the NBA... talk about a triple threat!

Seriously though, McLemore is not better than Rivers. McLemore is an 82 game player while Rivers is a 28 game player. If you know what I mean.

I’m hoping thats not the case. Hopefully since they are both elite athletes and assuming they have strong Immune systems they avoid the long term issues the virus can cause.
