I'd be curious to see if they show up and/or compete. As of right now, they're both probably around a 3-7 pick, I guess. If they show up, are they really going to move up any/much in the draft? I don't even know if they'd attempt the vertical jump. I believe Amen has a 40" vertical and Ausar's is 38" which nowadays aren't insane numbers (unless they're holding back on the verticals or they've gotten better). I do remember both of them put up some crazy good numbers in the shuttle run, lane agility, and 3/4 sprint times compared to NBA combine numbers, though. Amen's lane agility number was ridiculous. But they were OE times and I don't know how they do their testing/measurements or how accurate they were.

The only recent legitimate competition they've played against was on their Europe tour where OE played well in some games but also got beat up in other games. Of course, if you can't beat a bunch of high school/early college players, I'm not sure what kind of competition they faced. I think most of those teams were sub-par Euro teams.

Yup… 19 years old and didn’t play at all last year, and yet he is already a better and more efficient shooter than Jalen Green or Jabari Smith… his eFG% is almost 10% higher than Jalen Green and Jabari Smith.

Hell, for as terrible a start Jabari Smith has had shooting the ball, his eFG% is almost the same as Green (47%/48%) and both are way behind Sharpe at 57%.

    Depressing.

Amen Thompson will go high because, for all his warts, he has a level of athleticism that maybe 10 players in pro basketball have and that type of upside will attract teams picking 3,4 and 5 in this draft.

Yeah, no doubt. If I had the #3 or #4 pick, I wouldn't hesitate to take him because... well, who else can you guarantee would be better? If I had the #5 or #6 pick, I wouldn't hesitate taking Ausar, either. You just pray all their skills can translate and improve.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with this. I mean I won't complain if they take a guy like Jarace Walker, especially if it's at #5 or #6, but the upside play is really tantalizing here.

Just be prepared for the Thompson twins to have a major adjustment period. If we take Amen or Ausar and he has a rookie season like Sharpe's you're going to hear a lot of knee-jerkers in the GARM calling him a bust. But I would say it just has to be expected for them to kind of suck for at least half a season, maybe their entire rookie year, and they might not really start to reach their potential until 3-4 years in.

Jonathan Kuminga is who comes to mind for me. He's flashed, but not really broken out -- but hard to say if some of that is circumstances..

God.... this is a horrible take. He is averaging 9 points on the year and we are saying this based on a 7 game stretch. Holy f. Stop.

Looking forward to a bigger sample size but I had a feeling he was going to be good.

Sometimes those taken 5-10th picks are worth a look.

He missed part of his high school season, then he reclassified and didn't play at all last season.

This year, in his rookie season, he has played 77 games and has played 22 minutes a game and has a EFG of 56% and is shooting 37% on 3's and 57% on 2's.

Those numbers are for the ENTIRE season, in a lot of games and minutes.... those numbers are not based on a 7 game stretch.

It is more than fair to ask why a player that re-classified, that didn't play for over a season........ can come in as a rookie, in a large sample size can drop an EFG% of 56%...... yet the Rockets last two lottery picks have EFG%'s of 47% and 48%.....

Also, Sharpe has been consistently good from month to month, the only difference is his minutes have gone up.

Those are fair stats and variables to consider.

You then take into account Green assisted % on his shots are waaaaaaaaaaay lower. He also shoots waaaaay more. Sharpe has mostly played against bench players. Sharpe actually plays with some players that are not only 19-21 years old.

Again all fair questions to ask. That is why next year will be interesting because hopefully Green will get better. Plus he may get a few vets around. Maybe have a guard starting with him that is capable of giving actual assisted baskets.

It will be fun to watch. Also Sharpe is extremely talented… so is Green, both are playing under very different circumstances.

Would Jalen Green’s eFG not be much higher if he was on the Blazers?

as bad as the Blazers are, they have won 14 more games than the Rockets…they have a -3.2 point differential, the Rockets a -8.5…we lose by almost double digits on average

the Blazers are 10th in 3 point percentage, the Rockets are dead last in both percentage and makes

Shaedon is a scorer who gets to learn from Dame. Green learns from who?

Sharpe got to ease into the league coming off the bench playing limited minutes on a team that wasn’t complete ass…Jalen was thrown into the lake with no swim vest or floatie and told “swim MFer”

Green drives into a paint more crowded than the DMV and takes many bailout shots at the end of the shot clock every single game…he has to self-create far more than Sharpe does

it’s not even fair to try and compare players from other teams because the Rockets are 1 of the worst situations and environments in the league right now

I was so wrong on Shaedon Sharpe. He is looking like the best SG prospect after Ant and probably has even higher potential than Ant to be honest.

I guess that's the allure of the Mystery Man. He could be Shaedon Sharpe or he could be Dion Waiters.
