Eddie Murphy? Chris Rock? Take your choice . . . . I picked him because he is another director/producer/in the entertainment business Rocket River
Spike lee is taken a lot more seriously than seth mcfarlane. The south park guys could have got away with this. This is their 'brand' of comedy. The taboo. Tom Hanks couldn't do this. Trying to think who else might??? Probably harder for a black celebrity overall (especially any who've been vocal about discrimination)....but not sure it would be OK for most white guys? Your thoughts?
Maybe because nobody takes Seth McFarlane seriously? Really, when every word out of his mouth is a joke intended to piss someone off, after a certain point that is all anyone expects.
"Come on, you bloated, overprivileged Brentwood Jews. Let us into your little club." Yeah, if I got that in the mail, I'm pretty sure I'd never vote for the person who sent it to me. He can laugh it off and say I'm too uptight all he wants; I still would never vote for him.
yeah...i think it's fair to say it's easier for a white and/or jewish comedian to make jew jokes than for a black comedian. This one was rejected as an advert, though -- so I think its intention of being 'edgy' and 'holy smidth they said that?' was successful. It's what he does.
Yeah, cuz of the twenty other times he complained about Larry Bird's white privilege or claimed the Ninth Ward's flooding was a conspiracy. The guy fueled black resentment and paranoia that should have died off in the '70s.
