A lot of players wouldn't agree with your sentiment, but ok. Maybe look at it from another angle. He could flounder and fail miserably in the NBA too. A lot of players can't make the jump from college to the NBA, wouldn't be shocked if faces those similar issues and might be too old to do anything about them either. It isn't that he would be treated like crap, it would be he would have to earn his spot all together again (and rightfully so). Some people like a challenge more than the acclaim that comes with a victory. Some people like the victory, and really don't care if it's challenging or not. Lull would be challenged over here, and maybe, at this stage in his life and career it isn't something he would want.
