Great idea! After we trade for Ibaka, we should also trade for Westbrook and Durant. Surely any team with Westbrook, Harden, Durant and Ibaka would win at least one championship. ...right?
Ibaka is tops on my wish list; but I rarely mention him because it was an early 1st, Oladipo and let's not forget about Ilyasova and Sabonis. Not sure anyone else mentioned it. Tha_Dude is more realistic with Nerlens target. Giving up half the team makes no sense (towards winning this yr.). Taking two steps back to take two steps forward. I would rather give up less while keeping Harrell and Dekker. I will give Philly Dekker if I get Stauskas and Covington or Hollis Thompson back in return w/Nerlens.
I am happy with getting Ibaka as long as we are not giving up any of our core players: Harden, Anderson, Ariza, Beverley, Gordon, Capela.
If we can somehow get Cousins' mind right (and that's a big if), then he can be the last piece of the puzzle.
Ibaka is a big asset, but Vucevic is a pretty good asset too, he should be a starter for most teams. I think trading for Ibaka is possible given Vucevic has put up solid numbers, but if I don't like that Ibaka will take away shots from Gordon, or Harden.
If Morey can snag Ibaka without also having to give up Capela and/or Dekker, I'd be stunned. This isn't 2008 when Morey was stealth raping GMs. Donta Green for Ron Artest... brutal.
I think this team needs more help at the backup SF (Korver) slot than it does at the PF/C spot. Ibaka would be great, but the Magic spent a lot to get him. If Brewer was on an expiring contract then it might be more likely, but I just think there are better trading partners out there since our only big money filler contract is not expiring and is completely worthless.
Nothing to suggest he's available. We don't have anything they would want. We have a poopoo platter. People need to get their trade scenarios in perspective. "Oh I'd love to have Ibaka as long as we are only giving up two scrubs with money owed next year and a 2nd round pick." lol
Agree, he is WAY too old, but admittedly, he looks pretty good for his age. Not everyone looks that good at 5000.
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hat2mad we throw in some picks and overseas guys to make it work
Harden was pretty nice imho. If we get to WCF, and everyone having good year, do we have a chance to land someone good for reasonable money?
IRONY: Thunder digressed because they had to choose between Ibaka and Harden Rockets could win it all with Harden AND Ibaka Rocket River
