seems like he's trying to rush back...how do you go from out for playoffs to day-to-day?

better be careful and not make it worse...

I somehow knew this would happen. I don't think his injury was all that serious to start with. It sure didn't look bad when it happened. I think he plays in game 3.

"rapidly progressed"...Sure...this doesn't have anything to do with the thunder being dominated by the Spurs so far.

The bottom line is OKC has to win game 3. Ibaka has to be at full strength and the Thunder can't relax just because he's returning or else they will get clobbered again.

Go all out. Players used to play through worse injuries back in the day. It would be a Willis Reed moment for the Thunder.

Might as well try something, the Thunder aren't winning without him. Odds are if they weren't lying about the injury that he'll just go out there and injure it worse, but he'll have plenty of time to rehab in the off-season that starts in about a week.

Looks like Serge finally found a vet to take care of the little fella while he is gone:

Can't imagine what the Thunder (and Ibaka) are thinking here. They're still a long way from a title even if they win Game 3 and reverse momentum. Huge risk to take for not much reward.

Not sure why you think this. What risk? It's not like a calf injury is threatening his career. If he feels good enough to play and the doctors clear him, why wouldn't he come back?

Worst case scenario is it just doesn't feel that great and he doesn't end up playing and recovers in the offseason. Why not just go for it and see what happens?

They did similar thing to WB earlier this season. WB's recovery is much faster than originally announced.

Just IMO, but I wouldn't risk elevation to a Grade 3 and surgery on a calf muscle if I were as reliant on athleticism and jumping ability as Ibaka is.

An injury like this can put you at a higher risk of tearing an ACL. Another example is a ankle injury that gets taped up can lead to a ACL tear because it is the next join that moves and the lose of range of motion that the ankle would take and buffer your knee is no longer there.

I hope the Thunder can shoot lights out on Saturday and have Ibaka back for the 4th game. Would be great to show people how important and what a difference defense makes.

Seems like a silly decision. Out for the season to day-to-day in less than a week?

Either OKC is rushing him back because they were embarrassed for 2 games or Ibaka is rushing himself back on the court to help save his team from further embarrassment.

Then again, I'm not OKC's doctor... maybe Ibaka just has an insane recovery rate.

Didn't something like this happen with David Lee last year on Golden State?

Seems like it's a really bad idea if there's a risk of significant re-injury, but if not, it's worth trying and seeing what happens. 0-2 on the road is not impossible to overcome, despite how back they looked.

If Ibaka can come back and continue to block shots and stop the Spurs from going to the paint OKC might come back an win the series
