Okay, but how do we reconcile this with the fact that Joe Johnson is as slow as all get out, and can't defend?
Maybe my eye test is wrong, but why are teams doubling JJ in the post? Has he actually scored from there this season or they're just going off of past history? By double teaming him in the post, they are actually making him effective as he can find the open man. If we play JJ in the post season, I bet other teams will let JJ try to beat them on the post rather than give us another wrinkle in the offense to launch 3's.
Lineup-based stats are full of statistical fallacies and misconceptions, particularly when the sample size is small. Joe Johnson has NEVER been a good defender. Not even in his prime. Calling BS. All we need him to do is hit 35-36% from 3, and he's not even doing that for us. He's legit the worst rotation guy we have right now and hopefully will just be a vet firmly on the bench and not on the court come playoff time.
if JJ is your worst actual rotation guy that should tell you something about the team hes on. Ill gladly take that any day.
Well this version of JJ would be the worst on any contender... but I love our chances this postseason
Joe been playing well recently, so I dunno why all these people are complaining. It's all in the hands of MDA. Come playoff time, if Joe isn't making at least 1 out of 3, just take him out. If MDA leaves him in for some other stupid reason, all on him. I expect very similar decisions regarding G Money.
I think people just don't like him eating into Gerald Green's minutes. But I agree. His play has been improving game by game. He's been a net positive in PER lately. I'm very happy with his play over the last three or four games. I still prefer Green though.
Of those, I would prefer Clarkson to JJ. But I agree - he's better than the others. We are allowed to grumble and fret a little until that ring is in the bag
JJ would be permanently attached to the bench if it were my call. In fact, I would not have signed him. SLOOOOOOOOOOOW.
These vibes clearly doesnt work on him unless its playoff like he turned it on against the cp3 led clippers. Boy he was unstopabble
