nice to see you "raised your daughter right" instead of teaching her how to think for herself. no offense, but you epitomize what's wrong with America.
Yet another example of Republican projection. The Republicans have moved DRAMATICALLY right to the point that Reagan would never win a nomination because he would be entirely too moderate. The Democrats have done little but capitulate and give up ground, moving to the right in the process. The "crazy" in this situation is the TEA Party, the Democrats don't hold a candle to them as far as insane ideological beliefs.
Who the f--k are you to judge him or how he raised his daughter? YOU epitomize what's wrong with America.
Me? I'm the guy appalled that anyone here would personally attack someone's daughter. That's who the f--k I am. If that's an issue for you, I can live with that.
Says one of the Fauxbots who is constantly regurgitating right wing talking points devoid of logic, facts, or evidence of any kind. ROFL!!!
Please, let us not let our resident member of the American Taliban highjack the thread. Very interesting article today. The Republican Party Is Falling Apart As Conservatives Threaten to Stay Home and Not Vote Republicans are getting scared and starting to question the long term strategy of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, wondering if perhaps it was a mistake to refuse to work with Senate Democrats. It was obvious that things were turning days ago after polls showed Alison Lundergan Grimes in the lead in Kentucky as Republicans pulled out of the Michigan Senate race in order to defend previously done-deal seats. Days ago the media was shocked as Democrats pulled ahead in several key Senate races. Republicans love to race blind, basing their campaigns on the same belief in sentiment and ideologically distorted versions of reality with which they govern. Fox News and several pollsters enable the party’s epistemic closure. The problem for Republicans is that the rest of the country is not in their bubble. If Democrats are successful with their ground game, the midterms could be quite a surprise for the media and Republicans.
I don't agree with his proselytizing, but raising your daughter right and teaching her to think for herself aren't mutually exclusive. If I raise my children right it will include teaching them critical thinking skills. Would you not do the same and consider it "right"?
My 18 year old kid will cancel out cml750's daughter's vote. She was raised well by my significant other and I, in our opinion, and I am sure cml750 and his/her partner did a fine job raising their daughter. Something both of us should consider is that kids eventually think more for themselves than how their parents think of things. Neither one of us can assume that the kid will always vote Left or Right. They will follow their own best instincts, based on what they have learned from the wide world out there. In my humble opinion.
You have rigid views. It sound like you won't ever consider anything else, whatever the fact is. It somewhat explain why, to me, your views so often just doesn't match up with reality.
So the hard right is staying home because the candidates aren't Conservative enough? Jaysus ****ty op/ed by the way. I had to read the WaPo source to get some semblance why they weren't voting. I mean, unless you like senseless taunting and rah rah cheerleading of some talking head spoonfeeding you what is happening.
Unfortunately, that won't happen. As with virtually everything else with the "hard right/tea party/"conservatives", their "conviction" to their beliefs is fake, and when it comes time to go to the voting booths, they will march in and pull the lever to whatever candidate has the R next to their name. Then spend the rest of the next 4 years complaining when that person isn't "conservative enough" and that Republicans are really Democrats and Democrats are socialists/communists...
