was about to call someone an idiot on this forum for writing "Until Asik and Jeremy Lin's back-loaded deals ring up on the salary cap, Houston is going to be a force " but then realized it was an idiot writer outside of Houston. I'm just amazed how incompetent these writers are, I mean first off if we get Howard, Asik is being traded that's a fact and everyone here knows it. We NEED a PF, if we give Howard a max deal how can we get a real PF unless Robinson and Jones become all-stars next year. Also, he mentions 3 people but ignores Lin, does he even know Lin's played all season and has had very respectable number since the all-star game. Just because Lin got injured in the playoffs and was non-existent does not mean he won't be a great point guard addition on the team.

The best Rockets have done is the second round during that time span. Most of the time they have not even made the playoffs.

I think he means from the time we hired Morey, who has resurrected this team within the past 5 years since losing his 2 superstars for practically peanuts. So I'd say his comment is worth something.

One has to wonder how serious the owner is about winning going forward when he very publicaly stated that the last two seasons were the only seasons where he has made a profit.

He broke up a championship team with out giving them a chance to defend their title.

He did not even attend the DWill visit to Dallas last summer.

 

Yes, but what difference will it make? Dirk will be 36 when that happens, and they won't have anybody else to pass the torch to. They might be able to attract a middling star like Brandon Jennings or Monta Ellis, but I seriously doubt a game-changer would want to go there just to endure 2+ seasons of roster turmoil.
