anytime the words "Portland" and "release" is used in the same sentence, I automaically assume the following line will be about how much bail they had to put up before being released.
His problems with guns are inexusable. He's lucky he got the endorsement deal before the draft and that the Blazers took him so high. If Telfair doesn't get his act together he will be out of the league soon, which I think is likely. At least he got some money and hopefully his life won't crash.
This just in - we can't sign him, because Shawn Kemp just ate him. However, Shawn Kemp would like to remind you that he's still available. Just think - if Shawn Kemp had eaten Spree's family, Spree might still be playing right now.
He could get banned from the league. Anyway. I think EG might have soured any notion of future players and issues with guns.
Telfair got minutes at the end because of the tank job. Boston rested everyone as Telfair, Allan Ray, and some dude from the NBDL started playing heavy minutes along with Perkins, Rondo and Green. When they secured the #2 spot West, Jefferson, Gomes suddenly got better and started playing again. It wasn't a straight up trade of Telfair for high lottery pick, Lafrentz and Ratliff's huge contracts were involved as well. The Celtics might be able to turn Ratliff into something this summer, although maybe not with Danny Ainge's trade history. Boston fans shouldn't complain about Telfair, if they had kept the pick and drafted Brandon Roy no way does this team earn a top 5 pick this season. This trade could end up being the best trade Danny ever made if the Celts end up in the top 2, not that he's made many good ones before.
He was released by the Celtics, not Portland. I could see Morey taking a look at him this summer. The Free Agent PG Pool is not that deep this year, and we need a backup PG. Competition brings out the best in everyone.
