+1 Machado showed effort on defense only briefly against the SAS. When he is going all-out like that on defense, he might be able to be adequate on D, so he literally needs to do that 100% of the time to be an asset. He is a good passer, good dribbler, and decent enough shooter if he can work hard and improve. Unfortunately, he seems to really be lazy on D most of the time, boxing out, can't rebound, and no steals, blocks, or help D--from my experience, this stuff is going to be hard to learn, if ever. He reminds me of the playground or rec center PG that just hangs in the middle of the court waiting for the break instead of helping his team out on D and the boards. One year in the D League should show whether he is willing to put in the hard work.
he is a flashy player. worth to keep an eye on him. fast, can push the tempo, find the players, great court vision, led ncaa in assists and its easy to see why. 1st brazilian american in the nba! go machado!
