If we get Dwight (big IF), then he would be a tremendous fit at PF. If at all possible, I prefer we keep him. But if we are not going to be competing for top 4 in the West, then I prefer we develop all our young Forwards in hopes that one of them really exceed our expectations. If we have to trade him, I hope we can arrange a useful trade with his next preferred team.
I throw Scola into just about every trade scenario I think of, but if I speak from my heart, I prefer he stays. And unless Orlando or another team really want him, I can see him staying if we get Dwight Howard. We may have other PFs, but at least one of DMo, Patterson, and Terrence Jones will be leaving via trade anyway.
Luis Scola and Asik can work together, we need scorers that is Luis' role and we need a good defender that is Asik's role. I hope we don't trade just to make a trade because we got 0 return in Dwight. Sometimes the best trades are the trades not made. We were a pretty good team last year until the last 7 games, sure I want Dwight, but status quo will be alright with me and see if we can make splash during the trade deadline, or next summer.
Its sad man. I really like Scola, but he isnt worth keeping if we dont have an all star caliber centre. Scola is the PERFECT 4 to compliment a beasting dominating 5.
Scola is our only chance to reach the playoff. If we are going to trade him for a star it's ok (he is out star) if we are going to trade him only to dump his contract we are stupid Heart & soul of the rockets My favorite player since Hakeem.
Scola along with battier, were the horses here. Unlike the Franchise era, who only Steve was the player we all grew attached to, we had a great core of professionals here for a 3 or 4 year span. Scola, Yao, and Battier. Just sucks that Scola took so long to come into the league.
Scola is the best veteran player we have on the team. He is professional, after the botched trade last year, he still came to every game giving it his all and despite being the only person on the team with post moves after they traded Landry, he still did well in most games with a huge target on his back. Unless you are getting Howard, I honestly don't see any other PF besides Aldridge from Portland being a legit improvement. Scola is no doubt on the decline, but I'd rather he help guys like White and Montejunas develop their offensive games then send him off and start either of the rookies or Patrick 'Chuck Hayes without the muscle to defend the paint' Patterson.
Scola might not have the best defense, but I still loved his time as rocket all these years. Besides yao, he was my favorite rockets player in the past 5 years. Gonna miss the Argentinian tango!
