That's not true at all proven by the market share numbers. Most customers go into the store and pick up phones that look cool to them. The salesman gives them some justification for buying that particular phone and they purchase it. Some of them like big screens like my wife. Some like slide out keyboards. And others just like how a phone fits in their hand. One size does not fit all.
Does android have any specific advantages over windows 7/8 once these mobile specs rise into laptop/desktop territory?
The Note is now supposedly coming to Verizon/Sprint in the first half of 2012, using the name Galazy Journal. --------------- Samsung's Galaxy Note rumored to appear on Verizon in the US 17 January, 2012 | Comments (14) | Post your comment Tags: Samsung, Verizon, Android, Rumors, Touch UI The Samsung Galaxy Note broke cover ahead of CES this year amidst word that AT&T were bringing it aboard as one of their new LTE devices, which was confirmed once the show kicked off. Now, Los Angeles Industry Analyst, Paul Mueller, has confirmed that it'll be making its way to other leading US carriers, namely the likes of Verizon and Sprint. "It will possibly be called the Galaxy Journal. But it is certainly coming to both Sprint and Verizon during the first half of the year," Mueller said. This is the first time we've heard of the Samsung Galaxy 'Journal', but name change or not there's a high chance that Verizon will be getting a its own version of Samsung's 5.3" phoneblet and Sprint might tote their own model too. We can expect specs of the Journal to mirror that of AT&T's Galaxy Note, or at least come close. AT&T's Note, the SGH-I717 comes with a 5.3" 800 x 1280 pixel WXGA SuperAMOLED panel on the front, four capacitive Android buttons along the bottom and an 8MP camera on the back. Internals include a 1.5GHz dual-core Scorpion processor, an Adreno 220 GPU, a gig of RAM and a 2500mAh battery to keep that large display alive. Special mention should go to the S-Pen too, the Note's pressure-sensitive stylus. Other than a rumor and a name, details on the Journal are slim, with uncertainty as to whether Verizon will use an LTE or CDMA radio (although LTE seems more likely), but we'll bring you more information as soon as we know. http://www.gsmarena.com/samsungs_galaxy_note_rumored_to_appear_on_verizon_and_sprint_in_the_us-news-3680.php
In my opinion, the Note/Journal is faster than the Nexus. If you can handle the size, go for it. It's also expected to get ICS
It will be my choice of phone when I'm due for an upgrade, if it's on Sprint. I wonder when it'll hit stores.
Despite my unwavering stance I've taken on not paying $299 for a phone on contract, my cheap ass might be willing to pay that for this phone. It'd be an even nicer phone for $199 though.
Speaking of batteries, I saw on the Verge that Samsung stated that this year they plan on tweaking their radios, and adding bigger batteries for longer battery life. I wish that Droid Razr Maxx wasn't made by Motorola. A 3300 mah battery is nice, especially when the phone isn't super bulky
Any release dates for the Galaxy Note? More specifically in white? Looks awesome! http://www.slashgear.com/samsung-galaxy-note-white-hits-the-uk-today-20210213/
and here it is... http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-preview-hands-on/ design isn't really groundbreaking or anything. meh. will just do a yearly nexus upgrade i guess (which haven't really been about specs). edit: one x/v/s looks are better than this sucker imo.
