Nothing new. The heat on Dwight to Houston picked up around the Finals of last year.

We all could've assumed he was opening up.

Better chance Melo going to Miami then LeBron/Melo go to LA.

    Laker fans stay dreaming.

If the opportunity presented itself, do any of you think Morey would clear cap space and send Lin, Asik, T-Jones, and picks to Miami for LeBron and then send Harden to New York for Melo? Would we still be able to keep Parsons in that circumstance?

LBJ isnt leaving Miami, you can already see how tight he is with that group. Not happening! Pipe dream for Lakers and Rockets if we were even considering it.

Asik and Lin to LA for Kobe? Then they can go after Lebron and Melo. Dont know if they have the room but unloading Kobe at this point may not be a bad move for LA.

All he's said is what the Lakers are going to try to do, he's said literally nothing about what Lebron is thinking (besides the Wade thing but that's been public domain for a while).

That'd be my guess, and player target 3 would be Marc Gasol (who would be amazing out of the triangle) if i had to guess.

Nobody on the Lakers get along according to the media. The Lakers in general are a press circus. Even during their three-peat with Shaq/Kobe, whenever they lost two games in a row, the front page story would be: "What's wrong with the Lakers?" They always made statements that the showtime Lakers would never lose like that...as if they've never lost two in a row.

If Harden and Howard were on the Lakers, that whole debacle in the first round would have resulted in a "Can Harden and Howard co-exist?" storyline. Especially when you see Harden's body language when they decided to throw the ball down low to Howard. Being on the Rockets is good for Howard because the press really could care less about the Rockets and Howard can lose in the first round every year and it's not a big deal.

So they are planning on offering them both 13.6 million dollar contracts? The Lakers do realize there is a salary cap at 63.2 mil next year right? The Lakers are going to have about 27 million in cap space if N. Young opts in.

If they can trade Steve Nash for nothing back than its possible they both take a little bit less (18 mil each.... while they are due 20+ both next year) but you are talking about having a completely capped out team with 5 players, one of which is coming off of Achilles surgery in his late 30's, one of which is Nick Young, and the other which is Robert Sacre-blu. If they waive and stretch Steve, they have 3 million a year less to offer Melo/Lebron (They will have to attach an asset to try and trade him most likely to give themselves enough cap space to be competitive).

The moment the Lakers offered Kobe that ridiculous extension they killed the possibility of a joint union like this. I'm not shocked that the Lakers think they can convince Lebron and Melo to take 13 million each, but I am shocked that respected posters & insiders would float the idea without the caveat (that there is virtually no way this is going to happen).

Get out of here with your basketball knowledge bruh. It's LA, everyone wants to be in LA. Don't you know that people are fighting to get there? If Melo and LeBron don't end up with the Lakers then they just weren't built to handle that kind of pressure anyway.

    :p

That's why I think the Lakers has about a 0% chance of happening. Lebron and Carmelo would have to take a paycut to go there- meanwhile, an aging, over-the-hill, past his prime, who knows if he will ever be any good again Kobe Bryant would be banking in about 25 mil

Part 2.... The easiest decision ever made - Lets weigh out the pros/cons-

Owner/president - Pat Riley Vs. Jim Buss

Coach - Eric Spolstra vs. TBD (if they are lucky a great college recruiter/coach)

    Teammates -

-Wade/Bosh/Allen/Lewis/Birdman/Cole/Chalmers & the MLE to offer another really good teammate

    vs.

    -Melo/Kobe(coming off achilles surgery/Nick Young/Sacre/Ryan Kelly

    -Salary-

20.59m (w/no state income tax) vs. maybe 18m (w/ highest state income tax rate in country)

    City-

    Miami vs. LA

    Proven team-

been to the finals the past 4 seasons vs. just won 27 games

    Should I keep on going???......

So... Lebron is (justifiably) tired of Dwyane Wade sitting so many games during the season and taking off in-season.

And his plan is to go to LAL, where there is an older, more-injured, higher paid player?
