Nobody talked to Bosh about it. Doesn't mean Lebron hasn't talked to Riley about it.

Honestly, you know who I think has incentive to leak this info to the media right this moment?

If you look at how the Finals are going down, a good team with a couple all stars and an abundance of good role players is owning a team that went all in on three all stars. Especially since DWade doesn't seem to be playing like an all star anymore and Chris Bosh has somehow been relegated to just an outside shooter.

What would be great is if Carmelo, Lebron, DWade, and Chris Bosh do all take $10M per season and they lose to the Spurs again next year. Not only do they not win, but they all leave $10M on the table. Well, I don't think DWade nor Chris Bosh should be getting paid max going forward anyway, but at least Lebron and Carmelo get screwed.

I don't see Wade giving up his player option next year for 20M. Same with Bosh, buy he might for a longer contract.

funny, back in 2005 the Heat had the top 3 picks of the 1992 (or 1993?) draft in Shaq, Mourning and Laettner...

That is huge. While he could resign a new longer contract with NYC, I see this as ready to move on and sign a new contract somewhere else. And I see the Rockets as the best odds. Clear Asik. Clear Lin with a Jones and a pick sweetener. Might be a touch shy of a max but with no tax on 1/2 his games and playing for a contender should soften the blow.

Melo has 2 choices and that's either join LeBron on Miami or join Harden and Howard in Houston.

LeBron could use the threat of signing with Houston to get Wade/Bosh to take less per year in a new five year deal, creating cap room to sign another player or two to lessen the load. If they clear out enough room, maybe we can send them Asik and Lin for a 2nd round pick.

Won't work. They'd have to sign for too much less.

Try this one on for size.

Lebron leads by example. He signs for the minimum and gets Wade to sign for the minimum on 1-year deals. Wade takes most of the season off. But Miami could then reset on the luxury tax and bring in Melo, Pau, and Lowry. Then Lebron and Wade re-sign for max money next season.

Lowry, Melo, James, Pau, Bosh w/Wade on the bench.

If Lebron and Carmelo want to play together, the best place would be with the Lakers. They would have to obviously take less money, but with the prestige of being on the Lakers would pay off dividends in other areas of their respective "brands".

You seriously think LeBron needs the Lakers to help his "brand"?

The same applies to Melo. The Knicks "brand" is just as good. The #1 thing Melo's brand needs is winning. That will take him to another level.

No disrespect, but this is the most ridiculous misconception around the media and NBA fans.

Lebron was already the most marketable player in the league when he played in CLEVELAND.

The NBA is a global game now. Its hard to hide a superstar like Lebron James in Siberia.

Lebron's "brand" is bigger than Lakers, already was when he was stuck in Cleveland.

He is the brand, the team he plays for borrows his, not the other way around.
