Why is it gross? Are you aware that right here in Prudamerica during the early 1900s, women of wealth hired wet nurses to feed their babies? Anyway, she is doing this as a part of a crusade. Women in parts of Africa do not breast feed their babies enough. There is no formula to replace breast milk. Therefore, babies are suffering from severe malnutrition. Part of the reason for the lack of breast feeding is the stigma that is attached to it; many men feel like the wife is somehow depriving the husband if she does so. It's crazy really. She's trying to encourage people to breast feed, so she did it herself. And the other poster was correct. This is the most nutritious meal that child is likely to receive as an infant.
