Is it really that awful a move when the numbers are so freaking high? Nominally I understand the economic impact of the franchise tag, but a raise and the five highest salaries at your position seem fair.
I don't think anyone had any idea you meant exclusive rights. OF COURSE they have exclusive rights, that's what the franchise tag is for!

He is a great QB. No question about it. But... I doubt he would be as effective away from Sean Peyton's scheme. In other words, I don't envision any other teams valuing him at 23 million.
