Looks like the rumors of the Texans wanting Mallet before the draft were true but the Patriots asking price to to high so they waited it out.

Desperate move here by the Texans. I hope Mallet can grow into something however. Texans knew that they had a disastrous QB lineup. I don't know if Mallet makes it any better. You would think this would have been a move they would have made right after the draft. Oh well, we'll see how this turns out.
Not a fan of this. Will Mallet be better than Keenum? Maybe so. Hope these guys are just stop gaps until next year.
Perfect....has a good relationship with the coach already. Knows the system and never would have played, playing behind a HOF'er. Hopefully he took notes. Won't be long before Fitz isht's the bed and Mallet is in for good. This had to be done. Good move.
same pick we got for Schaub. Also I'm assuming this doesn't mean Mallet has been anointed the next franchise QB (with Savage in the wings) but more an acknowledgement that Savage won't likely be ready to take over the helm if Fitzy goes down. Thus Mallet will probably be gone next year, unless he shows something as a starter. I guess the price is low enough to take a flyer on him since Case looked disappointing and Savage is nowhere near ready. B'oB is hedging his bets between Mallet & Savage
