Additionally, basketball is such a varied game. Each matchup and circumstance has to be analyzed for the truth. For instance, you can make a blanket statement that post-up possessions yield only 0.74 points per possession. And while that may be true circumstantially ....... when you use the law of large numbers and compile a sea of data over many years when post-up basketball was played or attempted by all 30 teams including lottery teams with stumbling bumbling bean stalk giants with no skills, while NBA defenses had years of time to see every possible post-up variation and wrinkle, dissect it, and learn how to minimize the efficiency of post-up offense....... It is NOT necessarily true when you iso Player X against Player Y or Team X against Team Y. (This is precisely why the Warriors are so much better than everybody else except the Spurs. Because while they recognize 0.74 points per possession in a sea of data, they also recognize when Draymond, who is a great post-up player, has a mismatch which yields them 1.2 PPP or more and they don't hesitate to go to it.) And this is one of those cases. A post-up offense with Taj in the post against either Capela or Anderson defending the post combined with Taj's defensive versatility (he's a great defender everywhere on the floor) to cover CC in the pick-and-roll while also being able to step outside and deny Anderson is better than our pace-and-space offense combined with our terrible post defense. You can't analyze in a vacuum. It's our five against their five. Matchups do matter. In fact, matchups and the ability to get favorable matchups is undoubtedly the biggest factor in wins and losses. Witness last night. Taj posting up and Westbrook getting the switches with our bigs on him. He couldn't even screw that up bad enough to lose and there's no one more capable of screwing that up than him. It's our turn to counter what OKC did to us last night.
He is too slow, and easy to guard, he is a regular season basketball player - just not able to play well when locked in on in the playoffs.... The best thing he did for this franchise was get Eric Gordon to come here. DD
what a f'n disaster he's been so far. if he can't play nba basketball in the 2nd half, we need to run harrell game 5
He has been a p***y. I don't care if he stands 5 feet away from the 3 point line making room for others or whatever **** people use to defend him He is a bench player. Period.
Are you dumb? You are satisfied with wasting 18 mil on a soft 1 trick pony of a role player? Anyone defending this guy is blinded by his skin color. Moronic to say the least. You can get his same production at 75% of the cost easily. Inconsistent weak role players grow on trees.
Trade him. Package multiple picks if you have to. Get this p***y loser off the team. I'd rather have $18 million in cap space contributing NOTHING than Ryan Anderson being a net negative on the court.
In before he goes off next game and everyone is back on his side again... oh wait, we are at home next. We're ****ed.
I'm really starting to think we didn't play Wiljter this season cause Morey doesn't want to hit Anderson market value...if other teams know we want to swap Ryan with Kyle they may ask assets back to take him... Spoiler not sure this is a joke at this point
Again, Clint Capella negative -25 and -21 game 3 and 4. Get this man a seat. Preferably with Anderson on another teams bench.
He has basically become Steve Novak. May be down to his injury late in the season, but he is physically not ready for NBA basketball. Needs to hit the gym in the summer, otherwise he is done as a key contributor. Morey will have a tough job trading him this summer, im not sure a 1st rounder gets it done given the amount owed.
All depends on who we play. He will have a much easier time against Lamarcus Aldridge. OKC is a tough matchup for him with all of their athletes.
He's been a huge disappointment outside of game 1 where he at least helped on the glass. He's just looked very uncomfortable. Hopefully we make it out of the round and he has a better matchup next series
Don't pay attention to larsv8. He is the local village idiot and worst poster here along with DerpWah According to this fool, Rockets can do no wrong. Every roster move and every decision Rockets make is the perfect one. If you disagree with that, off you go to his ignore list which is 10 pages long. Thin skinned dude he is.
