Whatever happened to that guy who said ban him if hes wrong about his guarantee that harden will get mvp.......or 2nd team all nba lol
Dekker can't be left alone in theory on the 3 point line,so he can provide some spacing. He can rebound fairly well, and his defense is ok. I would give him the start against the Thunder, and bring Harrell off the bench. Get better soon, Ryan. Go Houston Rockets!
blessing in disguise perhaps since harrell has performed well whenever given minutes. his energy and ability to finish in the paint might be a larger impact than the anderson decoy anyways
I think that many people here don't realize how important Anderson is to this team's success this year. Having a proper stretch floor is what allowed Harden to operates so freely in the paint. Having this triangle on the arch with two on the corners, Anderson on the 45 degrees angle and a rolling man with Harden is our offense. We don't really have a better setup than this. Just the threat of Anderson standing 3 feet behind the line opens up so much for Harden. We'll see how we can do without it, it'll be interesting to see the adjustments, but it would be difficult for sure. Harel and Dekker don't space up the floor so we'll need Harden's 3 point percentage to be even higher than lately.
Why do people say that harrell will get minutes. He is not a 4 in our system. And he did not get extra minutes the last time Anderson was injured. That being said. I would not mind him getting more minutes
Personally i think this argument is a bit overblown, while i do think Ryan is important, i also remember us playing perfectly well (probably even better than this season) without a stretch 4 (and without a coach) like him two years ago when we ended up second in the West and in the conference finals, with Harden attacking and scoring at will even in clutch moments. That's probably because while another player cannot give you the same space Ryan does, he can give you other things that Ryan is not able to bring on the table that are equally important in winning games. Having Ryan today would've been better obviously, but if Sam or EG are able to hit the 3 well enough i think we're good to go with one of them starting.
The Ryan Anderson injury proves just how important the Lou Williams acquisition was. Ryan goes out and the Rockets plug Eric Gordon into the starting rotation and the 3pt shooting is still just as lethal while maintaining a 6th man of the year coming off of the bench. The bench may suffer just a bit depending on Williams ability to carry it but the starting unity will be fine and overall the Rockets should be ok.
Out today, out Tuesday, without a timetable. Spoiler The Rockets will not put a timetable on how long they expect Anderson to be out until he meets with team doctors, but Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni said Anderson will "probably" be out for Tuesday's game against the Warriors. With Anderson out, D'Antoni said he would start either Eric Gordon or Sam Dekker, depending on whether he would rather have James Harden match up defensively against power forwards in a lineup with Gordon. In the most recent game Anderson missed, Gordon started. But the Jazz also had an injury at power forward and downsized to match up with the Rockets. "I hate it for Ryan," D'Antoni said. "I hate that he's not here. But we have enough to cover it up." "We'll be who we are," D'Antoni said. "That's not going to change anything. It doesn't change a whole lot if it's Sam or Eric. Lou (Williams) and Sam will for sure get more minutes." http://www.chron.com/sports/rockets...erson-ruled-out-of-Sunday-s-game-11027672.php

The Harell should play the 4 discussion always pops up, but it is never going to happen this year. MDA is as clear as can be in the above quote. Guess it's an interesting discussion to some, regardless to what Coach says.
