Hopefully no other teams screw us over and prevent the trade with Atlanta.

i would still want to give up howard somehow. i mean he will cost us, and his not about to start his 30s but in late 30s... give stro more time at pf with howard going....stro is really atletic but man he played less min. then he did at memphis....and hayes is just filler that will play garbage time or injury time, but nothing more..

It's either Roy or Tyrus, IMO.

Btw, I'm not worried about the depth at SG anymore. We've always filled that spot with cheap players. I don't think it'll be a problem.

Only if Denver were drafting ahead of us.

If this pans out, we still have glaring holes in the following spots:

    starting PF
    backup SG
    backup SF
backup PG (since we just traded him away)

...the starting lineup may be good, but we need depth like Mark Cuban needs a hair cut.

Hell, that is a problem! You mean as a backup for Roy?

    My wish:

Draft Roy AND draft a SG in the 2nd round
    Sign Mike James
Sign a cheap serviceable veteran like Jon Barry... can't be hard to find those
Trade for Stevenson, yeah most dont like him, but uh we need depth

    PG: Mike James/ Rafer Alston
SG: Brandon Roy/ Jon Barryish player/ 2nd draft pick
SF: Tracy McGrady/ DeShawn Stevenson/ Ryan Bowen
PF: Juwan Howard/ Stromile Swift/ Chuck Hayes
    C: Yao Ming/ Dike Mutombo/ Stromile Swift

I think we're fine at all spots, except maybe center.

I hope this doesnt decrease the chance of signing James, bc i still want him.

With that being said, I didnt know Roy's workout in Houston was cut short. So what happens if he gets to Atl but Williams is gone by #8?

rox probably has plans to sign some back-up before making this decision about getting roy....weasley will be 15 min. player come next year... with sura, and head gone...no depth at 1,2,3...they should just squezze in ryan bowen somehow... his just as good as not having here...

If we got James back, I have a feeling Yao and McGrady's production would decrease.

No, give Wesley 2 year contract for a little over vet minimum. He's a great backup player. He can hit the 3, hit free throws, and will defend with total effort. You couldn't ask for a better backup.

Roy is the safest and most ready player for Rockets.

I think we should pick him even we hold the 1st pick.

Hate to see Head go but Roy will have a good chance to be the ROY of 06-07.

There are a couple of serviceable PGs in the second round.

Diaz/Collins/D.Washington/D.Brown could be the choice of our 32nd pick.

It's a no-brainer, but Roy will never be a lockdown perimeter defender. Brewer and Gay would fit that bill, IMO.
