    If we cannot incorporate Ty Lawson in our team, I question the coaching staff and if they are making it a point to work on what the Rockets can do best;

high pick & rolls with Ty Lawson, keep a guy in both corners, and another guy(like harden or tjones) on the weakside to attach the basket. It's really not hard, we used the high pick & roll some last game and it was very effective. How we get the other guys(meaning the shooters and tjones/harden) moving and off-ball screening is extremely important because that keeps the defense BUSY. We basically have the most predictable offense and thats why we're shooting dirt numbers.

It's not the numbers causing the game, it's the game effecting the numbers. Get that through your head.

If the Rockets get a coach it'll be next season. Let's say Rockets do get Thibs. Do you take a chance on Lawson's non guaranteed and paying him his money knowing he didn't work out before? What if he doesn't work with Thibs either? That's a waste!

easy now. no one is saying Lin was a complete disaster, but can agree it just didn't work out here.

saying Lawson didn't work out here after 20 games unless there are clear behavioral, detriment to the locker-room type behaviors from him is simply too soon. It also can't be compared to the coach being fired after 10 games. Once the players quit on the coach, there was little action the organization could take.

There are a few players who have performed absolutely horrible and its not just lawson. There are obvious chemistry issues, and Lawson has an entire career indicating he is much better than the past 20 games.

True, BUT although the overall result was better than this year, last year's team still had mysterious dry spells offensively. They were easy to guard and had to work too hard for points in the half court.

I am surprised that you can not even see the clear writings on the wall for Lawson.

As the season started, the first 10 games Lawson played as a Rockets, minutes wise.

    36,35,37,36,41,40,40,37,34,30

and then the last 5 games, his minutes :

    16, 2, 15, DNPCD, 18

The Rockets already gave up on him!

I think it just comes down to making or missing shots. Rockets get open looks and just don't knock them down consistently. If guys were making their open 3s consistently there would be no issues. Obviously an offense with more ball movement and more off the ball movement with screens would be nice but this offense has proved to work when guys can make shots.

Will be infinitely harder to sign good veteran free agents at minimum costs since they really have no other incentive to come to play in Houston knowing there's no effort for team chemistry development.

Anyone else think a lineup of...

    Lawson
    Thornton
    Ariza
    TJones
    Dwight

    ...would thrive?

FRFR. It's not that hard at all. The pick and roll is unstoppable but the Rockets don't enjoy running it for some reason. They don't even have to watch the film to realize it this. This is basketball 101, You have two great pick and roll players(Harden & Lawson). But the problem is the roll man is most likely T. Jones:( . Terrence Jones never makes the extra pass, he drives to the rim and misses 90% of the time.

Harrell is probably our best pick and roll finisher. He sets a solid screen and rolls hard for a dunk not a weak ass layup. If the lane isn't there Harrell can shoot that mid range jumper. No one else on the roster can make that shot consistently.

If we would just run the pick and roll over and over. We "MIGHT" be able to get away with not having any offensive sets besides ISO.

I am not denying that the rockets might have given up on Lawson and/or they are already shopping him. I am saying that its a shame and mistake unless Lawson did something detrimental to the locker room. why is that so hard to understand?

I still firmly believe that Ty can be good here, but he has to start. This season is probably lost already but long term might be salvaged if we actually have a plan to play harden and lawson together. Short term may not be pretty but it is Ty freaking Lawson. You need to start him, and him and Harden have to work together if we are gonna have any slight chance of working this year, because Bev and Terry won't cut it, and Ty and Harden have real potential to be great together.
