Rumor: Cleveland has deal in place for Love (Wiggins potentially involved)

How do you explain Minnesota being a decent defensive team the last couple of years? I'm asking because I don't know the answer. Not sure I'll accept Rubio as an explanation because I assume interior defense is more important usually.

 

The Suns could like Young more than that Pels pick.

 

The Suns were rumored to be interested in trading for Young last season. If they stay healthy they're going to the playoffs on the back of their frontcourt.

 

No they aren't. If they stay healthy they will miss the playoffs, with or without Young.

And even if Young would help them scrape into the playoffs, I think they would trade him all day, everyday, for a chance at pick 4.

 

Maybe Morey doesn't want Young because he doesn't make the Rockets a championship contender and his contract is for 2 more years.

 

How in the world is a 6'8" 220# undersized PF with a career average of 6.6 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per 36 an upgrade over TJones who averages 9.1 rebounds and 1.8 blks per 36. Career PTs per 36 are pretty much a wash. LMA averaged 24.5 pts and 15 rebs vs Thad last season.

 

Don't forget Thad Young is a career 32% 3 point shooter, 30.8% last season.

Jones was 30.7% last season (up from his rookie year).


There really isn't even much in it from a shooting perspective.

 

I meant the Pelicans making the playoffs in reference to the value of the draft pick. I get the feeling it's the Knicks pick all over again.

 

So who gets dealt from Minnesota first? No reason to have Wiggins, Bennett, AND Young. I'm really surprised Minny didn't push to get Noel and send Bennett to Philly instead.

With Pekovic and Dieng what would be the use of pushing for Noel? No time at the 5 and bad fit at the 4.

The Miami pick will probably end up being in the area of the Pellies pick (~15), I'd assume, so sure, we could have grabbed Young, but it would have taken expirings + the Pellies pick, and I'd rather reserve that for a larger deal, if at all possible.
