Kobe may or may not be right, but Kevin Love is a significantly better return than Vlade Divac (who is very good, just not Kevin Love good).

The same reason why he asked for the "Imperial March" to be played in his first game last season.

I thought Kobe only wanted to play for the Lakers and demanded to be traded?

    Exactly.

Kobe (not even 18 at the time) and his agent finagled him onto the Lakers.

So for him to say that is unbelievably dishonest.

Kobe is trying so hard to recreate history. I guess he is not satisfied having his legacy lifted up by the astronomical amount of Shaq's three championships.

Also, looking at Cleveland's roster, it looks like a pretty good mistake.

    ugh @ Kobe...SMH.

At least Wiggins is willing to play anywhere instead of demanding to play for only LA or threatening to go to Europe.

Its not the end of the world but IMHO Cleveland just pissed away their chance at a dynasty. Wiggins may or may not be better than Love in the future but his value right now is astronomical as an immediate impact defender on a rookie scale contract. Considering the Cavs just traded for stretch PF from Philly and they got Marion in FA and they still had their own stretch PF from the draft the trade for Love made even less sense. Yes Loves better than those guys however he also cost the max, Cleveland could've used that money to get a defensive center in the off season.

What defensive C's are available next summer that will make a bigger impact than a Love?

I didn't realize Charlotte had the best player in the world, in his prime, and was trying to capture titles with him when they traded Kobe.

Cleveland still has assets to get that defensive center (or whatever else) next offseason. Depending on what they actually give up in this trade, they'll still have one or two first round picks.

The big thing they'll still have though is Brendan Haywood and his amazing, miraculous, supersized unguaranteed contract. They'll be able to take back around 15 million in contracts from a team that can immediately waive Haywood and get instant cap room. That will have quite a bit of value and they will get something good for it.

Sorry. But Love is not good enough for Wiggins, Jabari or a healthy Emiid.

LeBron should be able to bring one of the up to speed much faster than trying to teach Love how to play defense

But watch, they'll get to the finals and the media will proclaim Love a winner, when dude has not had a winning season yet. Seven. And you blaim that on bad coaching. Just astonishing how Love gets a pass for being a loser year in and year out. Yet the TMac haters here will not recognize their hypocracy when hoping we land Love
