Rudy Gay's about to show the world he's on Durant's level

People, even in memphis, really think Rudy will get to Durants level?? Wow.. its like they dont even watch basketball..

Rudy Gay with another excellent game tonight as he led the Griz to a blowout victory over the Pistons in Detroit: 24 pts & 4 rebs on 10-17 shooting in a little over 30 mins.

 

Rudy does it again. 23 pts on over 50% shooting, 3 rebs, 4 assists, and 4 steals as he leads the Griz to another blowout victory. It has been a bad week for the Rudy Gay haters.

 

I dont think anybody here is a Rudy Gay HATER. The fact is that he will never be on Durant's level. He is an all star though.

 

We will see how it goes if we can somehow see Gay vs. Durant in the playoffs. Rudy has to have one of the prettiest jumpers in the game. Just taking his game to another level with ZBo on the sidelines.

 

Yeah 23 pts and 3 paltry rebs is not exactly what I would call Durant level.

 

It's great to see this. Marc Gasol should also be able to produce more. I've said for a while Z-Bo's presence was holding down his production.

 

Gasol is really concentrating more on defense. IMO he might be the 2nd best defensive big in the league this season behind Howard.

Durant is a top 3 player while Gay is a top 20 player...maybe. I'm sure I could list 20 players better than Rudy right now.

 

It's good that Rudy is playing better,but you're absolutely correct. Rudy's ball handling is not good,which will prevent him from becoming an elite offensive player. He lacks consistency as well.
Durant is a good defensive player,whle Rudy is just average at the best of times.

Basically, on about the same amount of minutes played Durant has more points, more rebounds, more assists, better % on everything and continues to be better than Westbrook who is better than Rudy already.

I don't think so. Rudy is good, no one hates him but the man is not Durantula level, he is tier 2. At best Rudy is top 25, Durant is top 5 at worst.

 

Tier 1 - Lebron
Tier 1.5 - Durant
Tier 2 - Rudy Gay, Paul Pierce, Iggy

Carmelo has slipped into tier 2 for me

 

So you got Iggy over Gerald Wallace and Luol Deng.

 

Why does this thread keep popping up? Why do people give a **** about Rudy Gay? Get the **** over it.

And just to reiterate....the whole thread's premise of Gay=Durant is laughable.

 

Even though, he's a bit of ball hog, I bash him alot, and he doesn't necessarily play to the team's strength, if they are trying to win a game against tough playoff team. He is becoming one of the best small forwards in the league. NO, he's not as good Durant or LeBron, but he is up there. As pathetic as it sounds right now, we would be blessed to have Rudy Gay on the Rockets.

Deng is probably the worst out of those 3.

 

He did what it took to win the game. I never compared the two. I'm only posting in this thread, because this is the most recent Rudy Gay thread in the NBA dish and I didn't see the need to start another one. What people like you will never acknowledge is that Rudy Gay is a upper echleon player in the NBA. I'm sure Kevin Durant would agree with that:
