Rudy Gay is an anti-Morey kind of player. Not gonna happen. Morey would rather take Battier out of retirement than take Gay.
Did you read what you typed. If not... You said Rudy Gay was LITERALLY cancer. Posting rights -- REVOKED!!!
Personally, i wouldn't trade Beverley straight for Gay. Brewer with a couple of fillers yes, but i just don't see a reason to trade for him at this point, he's an expiring and he's not that good.
Maybe a trade of Rudy Gay could be used to acquire Rubio. Gay is the kind of scorer and veteran that Minnesota could use.
finally someone with common sense. bev is the only never back down in you're face type of player that this team lacks. Also one of the cheapest contracts in the NBA.
Said this before and here it is again: What Rudy Gay represents in theory and what he actually is are two different things. He seriously comes up short.
So do players like Rubio but he still has usefulness and he's never had a coach like Thibs who might work his players to death but usually gets the most out of them.
Rudy Gay has played 10 years in the NBA. It's possible Thibs would turn him into something he's never been. I doubt it but stranger things have happened.
Beasley is way better than Gay. Gay may be more talented but Beasley doesn't settle for long 2s whereas Gay avoids contact like the plague: Beasley: TS% 0.563 Rudy Gay: TS% 0.538 Why would we trade actual useful players in a position of need (pg) and picks for a player who is worse than a guy making the minimum? Rudy Gay is the epitome of fake useful player and the main reason why analytics are needed in the NBA, if you just use the eye test and box score stats you'd be convinced he's a good player when really he just jacks up a ton of shots to get his "scorer" rep. Pass.
Really? You're going to compare the TS% of Gay who played 2379 minutes to Beasley who played 363 minutes? BTW Beasley' career TS% is .509 and Gay's career TS% is .531
Rudy Gay probably didint even finish his sentence, when the Kings were gladly looking for trade partners.
Rudy is a good player, but who would want him at this point. There's been an influx of small forwards in the left few drafts. He needs the write system to flourish, and most of those type of teams (like Raptors, Hawks, Spurs, Warriors, Grizzlies) don't need him or are better without him. Teams, like the Lakers, 76ers, Bulls, Wizards, and Suns need versatile, unselfish players.
Cant trade Beverly since he is one of only 3 guards we have. Unless of course you bring back another guard equally as good or better. I would send Brewer and KJ to the Kings for Rudy Gay if they would take it. He would be a nice player to have coming off of the bench in my opinion. Plus, that would be 13.3 million off of the books next summer. Instant cap relief.
Have you watched Beasley play? lol. I actually wouldn't call it settling, because he hits 75% of his midrange shots.
