Gay made 15m this yr and iggy made 13 right? Isn't that what I posted in the other post? How did I get my numbers wrong? I'm waiting. 2011-2012 was this yr.
You mean the year that has already happened? Sure. But how is that any more relevant than what each of them made in 2007? The $ amount relevant to such a comparison is the amount still on the contract for the future.
Are you disputing that Rudy Gay has $53,666,796 left guaranteed, while Iguodala is guaranteed $30,623,000 and Deng is guaranteed $27,640,000? Are you disagreeing that the amount owed to Rudy Gay is significantly more than the amount owed to Iguodala or Deng, both in terms of total $ amount and per year numbers? I am still trying to see what you are still trying to see. In case you are a visual learner:
While that might be true, the point is you aren't going to get an iggy level player, or a player on Rudy's level, on the cheap. Which we both know is DURANTS LEVEL.
Talk around the league is the Grizzlies are shopping small forward Rudy Gay. They seem to want a lottery pick in return. Obviously, they’d have to take back some salary, too. "He won't be an easy move," one team executive said. "It's hard to imagine them getting back what they want for him, based on what I'm hearing."
Too bad that ship has sailed. We have nothing that could get Rudy Gay now. It would be overpaying to get him at this point.
If you make a post big and bold enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. Spoiler Godwin's law, yo!
Cute. Fine. Let's upgrade this to a middle school math question. Here are the inflation statistics over the past years. http://inflationdata.com/inflation/Inflation_Rate/HistoricalInflation.aspx Which is greater? 82/5 from 2010 on or 80/6 from 2008 on?
Ch, gay has 1 yr more left on his deal. If philly or bulls for gay, that last yr doesn't have to be matched right? They could trade gay for iggy straight up because the per yr is what 2m right? That's not significant. In fact the next 2 yrs are within what 4m total money wise? That last yr makes him very tradeable if they choose to. Here is my point, teams aren't looking at 53m over the life of the deal, its about being closely matched right now. Deng, iggy contracts matchup well with rudys contract if they choose to go that route. I haven't read anywhere from anyone I trust that heisley is trying to dump his salary. Again, I think zach will go before rudy, but that's just my opinion.
You only owe AI $30 million for the next 2 seasons versus Rudy Gay's $55 million over the next 3 seasons. Flexibility.
In another thread, I suggested Gay and #25th pick for Charlotte's #2 and filler (expiring contracts). Memphis picks up Gilchrist and few expiring salaries. Charlotte gets the next Kevin Durant.
Bad move for the Bobcats. Gay is not someone you build around and definitely not worth this year's #2. Jamison and a 2013 1st (top-5 protected) and future 2nd from the cavs would be the best offer for both teams.
