uh...he's 24...a 2nd rounder, and he averaged 12 pts 6 boards @ 47% fg and 38% from 3. bad team or no, he can play for someone and be effective as well. the guy averaged 12% of boston's total offensive output.
Minnesota could be good in a few yrs. Jefferson Brewer McCants Foye Gomes Gerald Green Lot of young talent
Minnesota has a pretty good shot at being the worst team in the league this year, so I guess that means they can count on 12 ppg from Gomes too, right?
that has more to do with the fact that Doc Rivers has the most erratic rotation in the NBA amongst all coaches.
Ryan Gomes made a great work last year so if there is any chance of singin' him we should go after it. Maybe Alston+somebody for him?
Why do we want another tiny PF? I'd rather try to snatch Austin Croshere for the vet minimum from the clutches of Dallas.
that would just be r****ded. He makes no money, 2nd rounder so his contract isnt even guarantteed. They can easily deal him for a 2nd round pick at least, perhaps even a late 1st if a team wants him bad enough.......no need to just let him go for nothing.
had a 2/3 triple doubles last year. very nice all around game, lacks consistency. filled in nicely from time to time on my fantasy team. would have to look at him if he were to come up on the market.
He isn't getting cut. Also, he is better than Cook and has more upside than Foster... But his size puts him in the Antawn Jamison mold.
Maybe someone can enlighten me...by my knowledge, Gomes is an undersized PF who hustles like a madman but has offensive shortcomings. So how is he different from Chuck Hayes?
They play nothing alike. Gomes is a SF/PF, not an undersized power forward. He can shoot the occasional 3(38% last year on limited attempts) and has consistent range out to 18-20 feet. He's also very comfortable making high-low passes from the perimeter and setting up the offense. Hayes has him beat in rebounding and hustle plays.
