Not really. I know everyone thinks he's a NT, but he's really more of a pass rushing DT or DE in nickle.

At least I was right that Hilliard wouldnt make the team.

A broken clock is right twice a day, but I'll take it when I can. :p

I give the organization credit for cutting guys that don't contribute, but it is a little disconcerting that the first draft under OBrien looks like a pretty big waste just like they were under Kubiak.

I love the precedent O'Brien is setting. Accountability and performance or else you're gone.

I'm glad you were right on that. I thought they'd keep him because they drafted him. So glad this regime is going to have nuts.

Yeah I thought Nix was going to make it just to have a backup NT on the roster. Maybe they'll try to get him on the practice squad.

I would DEFINITELY call Darnell Dockett now to see if he is interested in playing for cheap.

GM Rick Smith with another wasted draft pick(s)... seriously i'm tired of Cal's BFF, if u want him to have a job let him be your assistant. this incompetent prick doesnt deserve a job, and that JJ Watt pick had wade phillips written all over it.

Rick Smith is the blame. He doesnt hit on draft picks after round 1.

For now though, Covington is penciled in as Wilfork's backup.

    Wow. Just... wow. Man.

The other part of this... I wonder who stumped for him? Did they trade up to draft him? If - big, giant IF - but if this was a Rick Smith pick........ There might be several messages being sent here....

watt has lined up at dt on passing situations a lot in his 4 seasons. you can move watt, crick, vince and covington all over the place.

Bummed they let Kourtnei Brown go. Feel like he made plays in every single preseason game.

Which is exactly how they like it. They want "multiple" defensive looks.

If XSF stays on track to bust out that will be another Rick Smith special. Hit on the first pick, get solid production from the back end and whiff on the important roster filling middle picks.

But... is it? I mean, it's certainly a consistent theme from one regime to the next. But, man - BOB doesn't strike me as taking a back seat to anyone, when it comes to personnel.

Could have used the Nix pick to move up for a QB last draft. The mid round failures the past four+ years has been incredible.
