Actually, the funny thing about the Josh Gordon pro-bowler season is not about the 3 crappy QBs throwing to him but rather this : in that season, the Brown actually had 4 pro bowlers WR Josh Gordon T Joe Thomas C Alex Mack TE Jordan Cameron and they still finished with a 4-12 records. So, putting Hoyer in the current Texan lineup with a weaker line and much worse TE, Hopkins will somehow be better than that 2013-14 Josh Gordon?
There is a great deal of fat on that final roster. If BOB takes this team to a winning record, he is no doubt one hell of a good football coach because the offensive talent just isn't there. This team cannot afford any injuries on the offensive line in particular. I just don't see how you can roll into an NFL season with that group and expect to remain particularly competitive. The depth just isn't there at any position sans wide receiver.
To be honest, Keyshawn actually did not win the job, its almost by default that Bob had to keep him. Other than Hopkins whose a lock, the other 2 FA signings are just some guys you picked up out on the street very cheap. And then the rest basically are rookies, and none of them are with first round talents, at least the progression did not show so far. Keyshawn is not really someone Bob will like to play, but just have to keep when there is no better option. He is the new Kevin Walter, you hate to see him play, but sometime you actually rather prefer to see him play than others.
Well you missed what I have posted above. Foster is probably going to miss half the season and also will have health issue to concern about when he come back. Brown was a different players than his prime couple years ago, but even that, I still count him probably the best and most important player in the Texans O, sure you can count him as a pro-bowler. As for Brooks, well he is improving and may even get a big paycheck soon, but still he never was selected before.
Everything you post is nonsense. You clearly have no working football knowledge based off of all your statements about the Texans roster. With the roster set as of now, Keshawn is your 6th WR on the depth chart. He's listed as the starting return man, but I don't see that lasting, especially since they have holes elsewhere, and trading him for a player is the most likely decision. As long as the Texans remain decently healthy, He should never catch a pass so long as he's on the roster. Those 2 FAs, in being Shorts and Washington are your prospective #2 wideout and starting slot WR. Keshawn can't handle either position. Both guys are better against coverage, both guys have hands far beyond Keshawn, both guys have a better knowlege of the system, both guys have produced in this league, unlike Keshawn. Mumphery and Strong have had a better TC and preseason than Keshawn. Both of shown continued growth as WR, growth in their understanding of the offense, and growth in production, unlike Keshawn. Please refrain from speaking about things you clearly lack the tools to understand.
You mad? Telling people to STFU just because you only want to see posters to kiss each other's butt? Look, Keyshawn sucks being a return man also, its not like he is doing well on that job either, and Bob tried Worthy and others too, and at the end, he still ended up at the roster, at least for now. The main thing about this move is actually telling the fans how much faith Bob is having on this current WR group we have now. Actually, I will not be surprised at all to see Keyshawn get cut in the next 24 hours for some waiver pickups, because obviously, we have a much worse situation in RB, OL and TE than the WR position.
Lol, That would be hilarious. I doubt it though, They're simply needing a scout team QB, any decent UDFA QB would do. Everyone knows Cassel is done, he isn't even a good backup. Give a young arm a chance on the practice squad to run your scout team, and you've also got the chance of seeing if you can find something in that guy. Got to move on fro Brady backups eventually.
More annoyed than anything. Every post you've made regarding the Texans roster is nonsense. None of your opposing arguments have any ground. You're simply posting BS for a ruse, and it's irritating when everyone else is actually trying to have a decent intelligent conversation about roster moves.
Actually you are the one should stop this kind of nonsense of personal attacks. If you have valid points, say it, everything I said had been backup with facts, if you will find something which is false, point it out, otherwise keep being salty will just make you look silly.
I'm not attacking you. I'm simply stating that everything you've stated about the Texans roster is unsubstantiated garb. You've literally never stated a single fact to support any of your statements. I'll leave it at that.
Your post regarding the Browns may have had some facts (such as the number of pro bowlers)…but it really makes no sense and has nothing to do with how it relates to the Texans.
This is the deepest and most talented group of cornerbacks in team history; JJo, KJ, Johnson, Bouye, Morris & Rolle. I'm starting to think they kept a lot of things hidden on Hard Knocks and knew all along what they had a #7 CB when they only have room for 6. I think they put the socks and attention on him to showcase him for the league. Hence them trying to swing a deal for him like Khari Lee, who was featured on the show. That said I still would love him on the team in favor of a 6th Reciever not named Worthy but Martin did look good in a few games. But I've seen that from him in the pre-season before.
