As many of us know Rashard Lewis is a Houston native, Alief- Elsik Grad, so I would expect us to keep that connection and hope he and the Magic go all the way. Plus the Rafer the newest ex Rocket could be another player to root for. Does anyone think we could get Rashard back to play for the hometown team? I'd love that.
Not with that Overly price contract. Remember "No hometown discounts". Final two years @21 million. He aint that good. Good luck to him but hey you can't have all of them.
Rashard Lewis is a 20 million dollar player over the next 4 seasons. You really think that would be a smart addition to this team?
Sorry guys, let me clarify, I meant bring him home after that fat check gets cashed. Would he still be worth to sign as a player with some years (many years) on him? I'd take the chance.
He'll be about 34 when his contract is up and I doubt we'll be thinking of signing him 6 years from now.
(1st post) Yes at some point in his career I'd like to see the Rockets bring in Lewis to play for the hometown team.
I played ball with Rashard in middle school (Killough). I'll talk to him. I'm sure he remembers me. Consider it a done deal.
Wow I went to Albright for my eighth grade year and while I was at Alief Taylor he came to check it out and I got my hall pass autographed. Cannonball get er done quick!!!
Lewis is still not worth the money he's getting but.. that could change in a few weeks. Love the guy though, great person and very underrated.
nice Cannonball. I went to Killough and Alief-Elsik '00 too. We were at Killough when they first started the metal detectors and uniforms... oh Alief, how I miss you.
Thanks Houston Rockets for passing up Rashard Lewis 3 times in the 1998 NBA draft and bringing us Michael Dickerson, Bryce Drew, and the great Mirsad Turkcan instead.
how is one very underrated and overpaid at the same time? isnt that kinda an oxymoron? i'd love to see him in Htown but not at that price. the mistake we made in his year's draft was an error of LA Clipper's magnitude. thank god we have morey now!!!!
Fans and the media can underrate him while the Magic organization overpaid for him. Personally I don't think he is underrated as a player, I am sure most people see him for what he is. He is a good player but not top tier.
It makes perfect sense to sign the hometown hero after he's fallen off the hill and lost his game. Signed, Steve Francis and Woody Williams. Ok, ok, fine. Maybe only sign him if we can get a clause in there that he'll agree to take steroids. Signed, Roger and Andy
No.. You can be overpaid according to your accomplishments, yet underrated for what you do to help that team. Like when you say all star you don't consider Lewis but he should be considered. It's confusing but he's worth a good 10 million. 18-20 million is Lebron, Wade money.
Can we agree that Chuck Hayes is an underrated player? What if we paid him $20M a year? Then he'd be both underrated and overpaid.
