Root Sports Houston to make Rockets debut on Monday (11/17/2014)

I don't live in Houston, can someone explain to me why they left Fox Sports?

 

Wife has been wanting to try U-verse but I keep blocking it due to not having the rockets. I guess we will be making that same decision you face. I hope the picture quality is as awesome as my current comcast HD picture.

 

As much as I enjoyed Uverse, the picture quality was definitely ****. I don't think you'll be happy with it. For someone like me that doesn't care that much, it was great, but you definitely could see some fuzziness.

 

So is this channel free for those with direct tv?

 

Yes it is.

 

IF you are regional to Houston yes. RGV is considered a regional area to Houston since the affiliation with the Vipers. Finally get to watch the Rockets game on the tv.

 

Now all i need is for root sports to be on time warner cable... :/

This doesn't change any of that, its the same rule for all 30 teams.

He might not have NBA TV...

 

Why do people insist on having Dish Network when they can just get Directv? It's a Satellite for goodness sake. Not to mention they have awesome deals right now for 12 months. Oh, and BTW if anyone is switching to Directv, let me know so you can do the refer a friend thing and we both can get $100 off our bill. Thanks, and Go Rockets!

Also, people in Beaumont with Time Warner cable, I think they are merging with Comcast soon. So maybe with the merge the games might be televised. It would be worth a shot looking into getting Directv and seeing if the Rockets games will be televised in that market. I do believe its a Rockets market, so they should be on locally. Bottom line is Time Warner is horrible, like even worse than Comcast.

 

I got Dish because it was much cheaper than DirecTV for the same stuff.

 

This has not been my experience. TWC is meh, while Comcast is the spawn of satan.

 

Dish will pick up the channel shortly after it launches. It's usually how this stuff works.
