How do you know Ron will not pull a 93 Vernon Maxwell and go Clutch City on somebody?

The same way you don't know Ron won't go '94 John Starks in game 7.

That would be fine with me because that would mean we would be in the finals. John Starks had a bad game 7 but there wouldn't have been a game seven without him.

Horry didn't play in the regular season.
Kenny couldn't keep in front of his own shadow
Sam went rogue and wouldn't pass to dream
Elie couldn't put the ball on the floor
Chucky Brown couldn't shoot outside 3 feet.

Everyone(except for Dream) has their flaws but Artest and all these guys have somethings in common. They play with heart, passion and they don't quit on their team.

We would not be a 50+ win team without Artest, so let appreciate him while we have them because we could easily be a bottom feeder next year if we lose him.

Well said. Artest has as much to prove as the rest of the team, but he's not a quitter and it's assured he'll make some big plays in the postseason just as he made big plays to help get us there.

don't forget Maxwell! he jacked up a lot more shots than Artest, but we knew he was streaky, either he'll miss 10 shots or he'll hit 10 shots from half court. but Maxwell never hesitates on his shot and always got the ball to Dream when he could (lead the Rockets in assists one year)

everybody had their weaknesses and strengths, but together as a unit they were awesome.

Or a '94 Maxwell and do a Houdini on the team.

That is the problem with Ron.....and why I don't think we should give him a big contract.....too unpredictable.

And MadMax would have been nothing without Hakeem, OT, Kenny, Sam, Horry, and Elie.......he was not all that great to begin with, he was just clutch.

I think overall he was pretty solid for a 2 guard. Certainly excellent defensively and very very clutch. But he was one of the more talented players on that team. And I think "the whole was greater than the sum of its parts" in regards to those role players.

We have the depth to get past the first round this year for sure. Only if we had at least a last years version of McGrady, Artest could easily just focus on defense.

It doesn't matter though, we still got to feed Yao down low and if they double, everyone should be ready for the 3.

We can't live and die by the 3 though...

You can not compare Ron Artest over four years ago to today much like trying to compare the rockets to last year even. He had no shot what so ever back then also.

You know, we're going to need that go-to guy. Most good teams have that one guy, whenever a play breaks down, the team gives him the ball and he makes something happen. Since there is no T-Mac, Ron Artest has to be that guy.

I believe Mad Max made those guys clutch cause he was there before them. Cassell credited Maxwell's schooling of him as a rookie made him a better player.

Sometimes, just being clutch is what you need to go over the top.

    Not true,
that team with Jermaine O'Neal, Stephen Jackson was playoff bound.
You can say what if, but they were a great team before Ron decided to beat up Detroit.

They could have went to the Finals that year if it wasn't for the Brawl at the Palace.

Wrong. Aaron Brooks is the new Rafer

I really like Aaron Brooks, but he is another .400 shooter.

Brooks + Landry for Steve Nash!

It was a different scenario when he was with Pacers. Different coach, teammates. Even Artest was different back then. They did not have a center like Yao either. And with Adelmans experience as a coach n if Artest jackin up shots, coach will do something about it right away since every game counts.

I think what determines Rockets wins will be their defense more than their offense.
