So..where will Rondo sign to this summer? He's playing himself out of a max contract and there are very few teams who would offer him such a contract now.
Harris was a draft night trade with Washington but point taken. Traded with Christian Laettner and Jerry Stackhouse to the Dallas Mavericks for Antawn Jamison.
No arguments there. But Honestly given their situation (win now mode until Dirk retires) I would have made the same gamble. Yes you’d rather have Dragic over Rondo but at the time there were no guarantees he’d be available especially since the suns were holding their own and OKC looked like they might not get it together in time to make the playoffs.
Morey's smartest move this season may have been passing on Rondo. When he was cheap and available. Morey know.

Agreed. They are the only ones who will throw max money at him. The other max FAs won't go there (except maybee Love). And wasn't Kobe the one who was recruiting him?
Its the Wolves pick the Suns sent and just check the protection, barring any miracle within the next two years the pick will transform into two 2nd round picks...Wright didnt net the Celtics a 1st round pick. Like J.R. wrote, its a trade you always pull the trigger if you digged into the pre trade numbers (terrible D, horrible matchups vs the WC opponents etc). No one could expect Rondo being such an idiot/child. Stuck for years in rebuilding team, gets the trade to one of the few contender missing a starting PG, great veteran team with one of the best coaches and he has nothing better to do than to clash with the coach Have fun in LA next year with another lottery year. Hey, or maybe they pull off a S&T with the Bulls for Gibson since Rose is done...
Bulls can't afford him. They will max Buttler and mister Rondo was looking for max $. Reason that Ainge finally pulled the trigger- he didn't want to pay him.
I know he's the enemy but I would love to have a coach like Rick! Someone who is going to hold players accountable and not play that wishy washy bs to stroke egos.
Would Rondo work in Sac-town? There, Lakers or Knicks are the only places I'd see taking a gamble on him if the Mavs don't keep him.
This is exactly why I NEVER wanted the guy to be traded to the Rockets. So much was being built about him possibly being here, and this is exactly the kind of guy you were gonna get.
Just want to point out that many Mavs fans were adamant that Smith would ruin our team and team chemistry and become a problem... How ironic...
