Are his FT attempts up to par to previous years or close to it? I'm not saying it's an excuse but that's a ridiculous numbers. He might as well shoot them left handed.
I know Rondo was previously suspended here and there for bumping into an official, throwing a ball at an official and getting into a fight, but has he ever been suspended for conduct detrimental to the team? Dude doesn't seem like he responds well to criticism
Crowder is an average roleplayer. And honestly, Aminu and Jefferson contributing now more than Crowder ever did. Crowder wouldnt get minutes right now. Wright was overrated because they trashed all the EC garbage (like the Sixers with 50 points). In every matchup against WC playoff team he was pretty much useless, because undersized and overmatched. He couldnt defend and rebound. Last playoffs against the Spurs he got benched and who played for him? Freaking Blair...they sold Wright high... Nelson couldnt guard a chair. Mavs had one of the worst defense in the league WITH the easy schedule. No way they do any damage in the playoffs against Curry/Conley/Paul/Lillard/Harden/Parker/Westbrook with Nelson/Barea/Harris. Nelson was bad, Crowder average and a FA in the summer and Wright defensively a bad fit against any WC playoff team and was going to be a FA too. So yeah the gamble was fine and the price they paid too. Specially after getting now Amare (no one gonna miss Wright for the rest of the season) and Aminu hustling his ass off (no one is missing Crowder). No one thought that Rondo could adjust so bad. If he bolts to LA or NY...fine...another year of lottery for them and then he can hope they are able to sign great FAs in 2016. But with Rondo for 15m, neither the Lakers or Knicks are going to make the playoffs next year anyway. Love is staying another year in Cleveland anyway. And whicht other PG? Dragic? No way...he was focused on Miami/NY/LA. If he didnt want to go to Houston longterm, why Dallas? Mavs also didnt have the assets to slide into that massive PG switch with Knight/MCW etc. The gamble was fine. Looks like Rondo is a bigger idiot/child than they thought. Even Kidd could make it work with Ricks system...

He is 19 for 61 from the line this season...... last year he was 42 for 67.... It just shows how TERRIBLE he is at putting the ball in the basket. I would foul him every damn posession in a close game. He literally cannot be in the game in crunch time at the end of the game. What makes it worse? He handles the ball a whole lot. The Mavericks will almost have to sit him in the playoffs in close games. Strategies can be framed simply around exploiting his inability to put the ball in the basket. In his prime he was a 62-65% free throw shooter that could get to the rim. He was a 50% shooter on two point shots a few years ago and now he is at 40%. His three point shooting this season has improved to a robust 31%. Last, his assists have dropped by 50% since joining Dallas. This guy isn't getting max money from Dallas or anyone else. At this point he is a MLE candidate.
The Mavericks in essence gave up 2 #1's for Rondo and that is what Phoenix got for Dragic. Stop making excuses, he sucks.... the Mavs overpaid. If they go anywhere in the playoffs it wont be because of a busted up, malcontent Rajon Rondo.
It's interesting to me that when they acquired Rondo, the national media lauded the move, saying that he would be the piece that put them in the Finals. When the Rockets acquired Josh Smith, the media panned the move saying that he was a terrible shooter and a possible cancer in the locker room. Here we are 2-3 months later, and Rondo is the malcontent who is shooting horribly and fighting with the head coach; Smith is re-writing the narrative about his season by coming off the bench, playing team ball, and practicing on his shooting to get better and fit in to the offense. I know a few months is a small sample but I just find it interesting. I wonder when the national media will come back and sing Smith's praises as much as they were so quick to be so harsh on him when Detroit cut him.
In what essence two 1st? They signed Wright and Nelson as FA and Crowder was a 2nd round pick And Dragic blackmailed the Suns with his list of teams. Why you say the Mavs could have gotten him easily with two 1st if the Rockets couldnt get him with their much better assets? Dragic had his short list teams and he played the Suns. Like i tried to explain, they didnt pay that much. And if you see the defensive numbers and see how the opponent star guards played against Rondo, then it was a solid gamble. The defensive numbers went from the bottom of the league into the Top-10. Offense just dropped to #11.

It was a fine trade, one you make every time. Rondo, Amar'e >>> Nelson, Wright They lost a first round pick. Name the last good first round pick they've made and kept? Josh Howard, 2003
#1 Wright was traded by the Celtics for a 1st rounder to the Suns. The Mavericks gave up a 1st rounder of their own. Thus they gave up 2 first rounders worth of talent and a second rounder as well. #2 The Rockets didn't offer 2 1st rounders for Dragic like the Heat did, that is the reason Dragic isn't a Rockets jersey. #3 The Mavericks would have been in a position to offer more than Miami did for Dragic. Even if we assume it is a rental of Dragic, that is far better than having a free agent to be Rondo. The move by the Mavericks was praised at the time, but Rajon Rondo has proven to be below replacement level. He has been terrible overall.
Devin Harris 2004 was a good pick as well (5th overall)....But i agree with the sentiment. The assets they gave up are not going to cripple them. Parsons at $15 mil is much more franchise crippling.
